A Fillmore in Detroit no kidding. I went to college in Brooklyn from 68 to 70. I worked part time as a grip at the Fillmore East. Unfortunately due to some of the cultural excesses of the time, there is not a lot I remember. But I do recall working shows for Cream, 10 Years After, Mott the Hoople, Van Morrison, the Doors, Big Brother and The Holdig Company with some little kid named Janice Joplin, Canned Heat, Arlo Guthrie Santana, Spooky Tooth. Mountain, the Byrds, Traffic. My suitcase full of signed posters got packed and left behind somewhere along the line.

Dumbest move, other than losing all those posters, traded my shift for Pink Floyd for a Frank Zappa gig, so a guy could pick up his girlfriend from the airport.

To me, ZZTOP is the best band ever........I know it's quite a statement, but I blame them for getting me into cars and.....girls.

Oh and Denise, I switched the fridge doors so they open the other way...

OMG! They're better than East of Barstow at 3AM and some guy sez 20 bucks, his 442 can wax your 55 Chevy!
I'm talkin' pure gearhead *** tunes!
Any gearhead out there feeling a bit low on the loud pedal needs to get in touch with the blues-science of ZZ Top! If you're over 55, this is manditory tune-up!
Mr. Gearhead, Blues Mechanic, Billy G, is breakin' out some new chicken-picken tricks from that old bag. Is that a bag on his head? Must be a funk bag 'cause he's got that Hi-Po mojo translated into guitar, drums and candy cherry red lights, vintage magazine graphics and chriome. Don't forget the simulated smoke (didn't smell like rubber or gas). In Frank's drums I hear an Isky 505, some ready 5:13's in my backside and a load of AV Gas waiting to hit the streets. Predictable precision of a built V-8 and Dusty Hill's b*** line like the most bad-*** exhaust tubes. They get you "Under Pressure" but then it's up to you to hang on and go with the chord changes and make it to the bridge. They still be shiftin' cords like an M-22 Muncie but they has found the JAZZ suedeness of the riff. WOW!
Some good old tunes that get yer fuzz all ****ey but they tune it up like a laptop tweakin' a rice rocket.
    I think I like it!!!
    Science!

Last time I saw 'em was 19 hunert and 76!
Hot summer nights and the cops were always late.
They had them Rattlesnakes, Vultures and a steer that musta been deaf and stuff.
Seems like there was lots of puke, - - - somebody lost an eye and a baby was born. No big-
These guys ain't made fer TV.
    And the band played on!
    Rock-on old dudes!
    I'm with ya!

    Where's my cheap sungl***es?
