Hi all, my name is Jon Van Oyen. I've been a sort of long-time lurker, infrequent poster in the past under the name jonvo4591. I have always had a pull toward traditional Hot Rods and Custom cars due to some friends I made about 10 years ago. I have recently refocused my interests away from a lot of OT distracting stuff, and toward as much traditional stuff as I can! I'm a new dad and my time is limited, but it's amazing what can be done when you plan, prioritize, and focus your energy toward something, even with so little "free" time.

I own a 1928 Model A Tudor Sedan, a 1941 Chevrolet Business Coupe, and a 1930's Gow Job project. Let's be honest, they're all projects...

I started the Hard Luck Garage universe to funnel my traditional interest somewhere, and give them somewhat of a purpose. I am working on being active in the traditional community via YouTube, Instagram, (both can be found @hard_luck_garage) and now, the H.A.M.B.!

I wrench on regular traffic by day, and usually can be found rolling around under something pre-war after the wife and kid go to bed. I have come to really enjoy the creative process of making videos and taking photos centered around traditional rods and customs. I hope to see you guys both on this board, and out in the real world. I believe this hobby is as much about the people as it is about the cars. Anyway, here are a few pictures of my junk and one of my face. Thanks for having me!

Thanks for the tip and the kind words! I’ve been out of the forum game for over a decade, so getting used to how things work again! The sedan has long family history and I’m planning on documenting it here at some point as well!
