  2. Rather than one continuing thread I have been posting fresh when I do something worth sharing. I'll finish up the gas tank thread and then start one on building the steering column.

Wow, thanks for that. I had never seen it. I've only skimmed through it but I am definitely going back to read it through... A VERY cool build.

  17. Langy, your roadster build is amazing.

I've been watching Fishbeck's resurrection of the 59 El Camino. Good stuff. There are a lot of other ones on here too. That Tindall coupe for instance. Damn. Everything about that is juuuussst right.

  18. Holy***** Tindall...I just looked at your thread again...I didn't realize you're a teenager! You are going places in life dude!

Keep your eyes peeled, as I'll be kicking my own T roadster right in the car-balls later this summer too, bobbed/kicked deuce rails, 4x2s on a 303 olds with a 4spd...

Shortly after joining the Hamb I was inspired with all the projects being built and the amazing talent of some of the guys.

Knowing I already had 2 hot rods on the road I decided I needed a project to hone some new skills and went no further than our barn to pull the old '54 Ford "Ranch Wagon" out into the light of day.

The wagon belonged to my wife's grandmother and she purchased it new in 1954.

I made that decision on 2-20-2003,,,never dreaming that I would still be working on that same car almost 7 1/2 years later.
Due to the rather lengthy time span a lot of my earlier post were lost during the numerous upgrades with the Hamb site,,a small sacrifice on my part because I managed to save and keep a ongoing photo album on my Fotki site,,although I did lose a lot of funny comments and attaboys,,not to mention one "Roach Wagon" photo.

To say it was rough was an understatement and not being well versed in major metal work I was in over my head but with my questions being answered by a lot of Hambers and a good friend locally that has the skills I lacked the project was underway.

The rust turned out to be much worse than I originally thought but I was determined to bring the car back to life and try and make it as good as new but still have it look basically original but at the same time add a little hot rod style,,and of course add a V8 and a 5-speed.

There has been many starts and false starts,,ups and downs, and I built my 32 pickup during this time also,I could go on and on but I won't.

I a love/hate relationship at times but I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel,so hopefully 2010 will be the year we will take that first ride around the block in the wagon.:)

The link below will take you to my Fotki site and click on the slid show below each photo there is a detailed description. HRP

The day I opened the barn door and decided to start this project.
