I did not know you could do that. Makes sense. I will do that when I install my temp gauges. I am going to run duel mechanical gauges, just for fun.
Ya, it seems that most newer gauges have both. I don't like it having the metric on there. I will probably change it out later. Right now I am layed off due to the virus and no money and lots of time so I am using what ever I have to move forward, as long as I can unbolt it later. Same kind of story with the cable gas pedal. It does not match what I am doing, but I can unbolt and it works for now. Once I get some brakes, I will be able to drive around the block. I am close to having everything I deed to build up the brakes. So that 1st little drive is really in sight. That is incredibly motivating.
I forgot to mention this was the 1st time in 65 years this car moved under it's own power. Last time 1955.
That is totally awesome! It was last run the year before I was born! Sounds great, looks great! A ride back in time!
That is awesome Doug! It is rewarding to see them move under their own power, and with the passing of 65 years, it has to be even more so! Great job.
Boy, that thing looks just right. The proportions and stance are really nice. You have a good eye. Congratulations on the drive.
Do you think anyone driving by would have thought this thing would be driving down the road in 9 months?? Absolutely fantastic, Doug! Bless you for saving another one. Mike
The clutch pedal force was way to high. The 3 speed trany has no mechanical advantage from the throw out bearing fork. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well done, Doug, that's a real achievement. Here's a tip: Hold your phone sideways when filming. It fits Youtubes format better. And you need to say it's not made for kids. I think this enables comments (unless you've turned them off) Well done, though. You'd never have thought it from the "before" pics. Mart.
You didn't just think you could fix that, you KNEW you could fix that, and what a great job you did, too! It must be very satisfying to breathe new life into something like that after all these years; those videos were fun to watch!
Did you talk to the original owner? I bet he would love to see it now. Great work. Great inspiration. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Man i just went back threw all of this, just really nailed it on the overall vibe. Not cookie cuter but not bizarre either. Love it
Just got turned on to this thread and lemme tell you it’s up there in my favorites. Everything about this is authentic. A real deal down and dirty hotrod.
Not yet. Thanks for the reminder, I need to let him know. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That one will be a ways out. I still have a lot to do on this one. I need to rebuild the doors, get glass all around. Right now the carb needs gone through and I need to get brakes on the rear end. Lots to do. Sure is fun being able to gimp around in it and work out he little bugs. Thank God so far all the big important stuff is working as t should.
Thanks Austin. What do the gauges look like? My oil pressure gauge is to new looking. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
