I had the same concern with (both) my baja bug headers. Not the sueing part, but that the little ones would get hurt. But haven't had any problems over the years. They can sue me if they want; if they won all they would get is about ten bucks & several old junk cars!

Shoe, where the hell does the name "shoe" come from? Is it because you smell like a foot? I thought your name was Dave or something like that. Is that your truck that you posted? Its looks good. I like it.

Aaron, I find it very disconcerting that people whine about little things like a gas tank and valve covers on an obviously well built and down-right bitchin car. The car is looking just dandy. You are doing a swell job and you know it.

Calm down. I'm knocking the headers, not the Lander. I already sang the Lunar Lander song. Too bad you missed it.

I just think that for the price of those brand-name coated headers, you could have gotten some flanges, mandrel bends and tubing and built something more befitting the lander.

    Those look like an afterthought.

But... If they were free, run em!

The gas tank doesn't bother me a bit, it'll be hidden most of the time. When it comes to fuel, safe is gooder than cool.

I have to agree, I never really understood why people use fenderwell headers on a hotrod... They weren't made to look good to begin with...

I likey the headers, HATE the valvecovers!!!! hahaahaa... Seriously, with a little tweak here and there, they will be good to go. Just think how lame a set of block huggers would be on this particular roadster. Dammit, those valve covers piss me off. I think i will build a rocket motor for my coupe and stick some SBC valve covers on it. whattya think about that?

Agreed Nick... i had a few words with Aaron down at the Drags first thursday night playing with the dingoballs and fuzzy dice on Tman's Touring, and then again sunday morning he and i shot the shit while i got a real good look at the "unit"...

Aaron, dood. your too fuckin hard on yourself. dont accept every little pisshead comment as the written word dood. the space truck is a fuckin AWESOME machine, and the lander is. . . fuck its gonna be even better in many ways. there is a reason ryan chose to use your truck as part of the random HAMB banner at the top of each page here meng.

i wish i had even one tenth of the imagination to come up with something as daring and different as what you are doing bro.

those are beautiful headers. as for ceramic coating, i know but this: it's expensive as hell. i'm not sure if that's something you want to cut into, unless you're willing to shell out beau-coup bucks to get them recoated again.

  20. Please post a photo of the rear. I'ts looking like the Olds is being absorbed, now blending in with the A.

What are you planning for Headlight?

From the front those contorted headers look like Spiders legs. Kinda' creepy. Good idea.

Shortbus I got what you were saying.;)

Anyone that has put together a set of headers knows that you just can't "whip" up a set. I built the ones on the spacetruck and hated every minute of it. It took me about 3 days to do it before I had a buddy tig them all up for me and they still don't look all that great. I said it then and I say it now, there is a reason that completed headers are expensive, because it is worth it! If some master header builder wants to build me a set, great. For me to do it and be happy about it, I would need a bender and a tig welder, so I could build a nice flowing set with no seams.......and then how much to have them coated?

I just choose not to do things I don't like to do. Building headers and a gas tank don't rank up there on my "funmeter" so I ain't gonna do it. If it makes my unit any "less" of a vehicle, so be it, I can live with it. Once it is built it really won't be that much fun for me anymore anyway. I'll just end up tearing it up somehow since I drive like an idiot.

I am not too hard on myself. I build shit for fun, not to impress everyone (although I admit that it is kind of fun to impress people too). As a matter of fact, I already have my next project waiting in the wings and I will probably start on it before the paint is dry on this one, just because it is what I like to do. I spend all of my time in the garage not out on the town stylin' and profilin'. I think if more people treated this shit like fun instead of a chore, more would be getting done, that "motivation" post comes to mind. Everybody needs to quit taking this shit so seriously.

Anyone that has met me knows that I like to have a good time, if it ain't fun, I am not going to do it, like bondo work and bulding headers! Ha Ha Ha. I pay attention to the builds on here. That is what is cool in my opinion.

Shoe, I kinda like the looks of those you have. I don't think they would work on mine though because I need clearance for my steering box, which these particular ones provide, which is why I used them! And no, these headers I got weren't free. As a matter of fact, besides the intake and wheels they are the most expensive thing on the car! I sold some junk and made some money so I though I'd treat myself to something nice. Ha Ha Ha

Bob Bleed is my hero, where has he been anyway?....and Randy "trailer queen" Dugger, I am glad I could put a fire under your ass. I need to have goals in life. Ha Ha Ha
