Technical I understood why the brakes didnt work anymore !

    I am the Lucky owner of a 1953 98 olds :
    This car as never Been restored whith a very low mileage
    But since fiew months brakes were
    Capricious :sometime there is no more brakes and sometime all work great
    I dismanted the masters cylinder and here is what I saw :junk,poop and all kinds of junk
    I bought à repear kit from fusick and now everything works great …,
    Here is what I found inside :

    Pardon my French, I took it one semester in high school! (it's WORK, not DIRK) ;)

    The car looks great and I guess it really turns heads in France. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice car, I’m surprised the brakes worked at all with the crap inside the mc.

    That does happen a lot with vehicles that sit too much of the time without being driven. It's not a bad idea even with year or two old brakes to flush the system every year or two.

    the brakes worked Almost the time,
    but when i opened the mc fluid cover and saw all the junk inside i was Hallucinated
    I had to use 4 liters of brake fluid to rinse all the brakes system to have a clean fluid going out the wheel cylinder.
    Hoppefully everything is fine now ;
    This car brakes like a modern car

    So I fabricated a one way valve with a ball and a spring inside :good job,this tool worked fine IMG_3925.jpeg

    I bet the wheel cylinders are as bad.:rolleyes:
