I'd have better luck making a sandwich. I don't even know what the hell stuff like a TT supra, 2jz or ninja van are. That reduces my chances of doing this one.
I drug this one back up because there are a lot of us nearing retirement and looking at a garage industry. I'd thrown out some ideas and the common denominator seemed to be no one wants to spend much. With that in mind, if someone were to offer a Roots blower out of water jet cut 1" pieces of plate held together with tie bolts and gaskets, at what dollar amount would there be interest? It would use plastic impellers also water cut, and driven by a round shaft with full length key. With flat upper and lower surfaces inlet and outlet could be milled and tapped. Juggling plates from one end to the other gets you within 1/2" and over length pulley shaft and shims could make up difference. The last section of impeller would be plastic synchronizing gears that could reside in plenum. With sealed bearings no need for oil baths.
What planet are you from? What do you call serious horsepower? What do you really know about glides? Just wonderin'T.OUT
How about an adapter insert to go between a 331 Hemi(long block) and an auto trans say glides or torque flites along the lines of the JW ultra bell thing? T.OUT
Thanks for the idea request, and I need to support 'Jethro' on this. It would be a great Tech artical showing the steps (cad plans) to modify the truck banjo housing to be a quick change. This would include all diamensions for the rest of us 'rodders to build our own. Hell, I would also pay for the plans, as I did for the flat head to T-5 adapter plate. Good for everyone I had the same problem, a complete cnc machine shop, and a huge blank when it came to my own projects. Now I own a manual shop and I have the HAMB for inspiration. Thanks all. CDNflatlander "I'd be interested to see the steps involved in converting a banjo rear to a quickchange. I think the first ones were homemade, welded and machined using a lathe and a Bridgeport. Seeing as I just aquired those same machines thats something I'd like to attempt....Whatcha think?" - Jethro
