Hey Jeff! My best guess to those is maybe a Oldsmobile, I have not seen a wheel like that in a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Hey I learn new things about wheels everyday! Like I said though, Olds is what it is! Thanks again, Mike
Thanks Mike, Is there anything more I could look at for better I.D.? I'm just curious anyway so no big deal. Jeff
Hmmmm Sounds like a fight!!!! Anything I can look for to tell for sure, backspcae, rim width, stamping data? At some point I'd like to get caps and what-not, do I need to look for '36 Buick or Olds stuff in particular. or will somthing else common fit? Thanks alot guys, Jeff
That list is wrong, 36 Buick centuries and roadmasters had 5 on 5.5". Century had a 15x5 wheel and roasdmaster was a 16". Also 36 Buick Limiteds was 5 on 6" Jimmy
I also acquired a set of these wheels I want to use on my volksrod project i'm doing. I have searched all over for info on these? And found nothing referencing them to a 36 Hudson?... At least not the 4 bolt? Was wondering what caps would be compatible with these wheels? Any ideas? -Gary
Do you have 4 of these? I am willing to pay at least 100 bucks a piece for them if ya got them.(insert dumb smiley face here)
Hey Curbspeed! Looks like your too late. I matter of fact just sold 4 for $500 just last week. Sorry.
Jimmy is right, here are some 36 Buick 16" artilleries with 5 on 5" bolt circle on my36 Packard. Buick also made them with a 5 on 5 1/2" bolt circle too. They used both bolt patterns in 1936 possibly 1937 also. See Ya! Randy
Hi Gary, Yes about a 1934 Hudson Terraplane is what those wheels are. I have no idea with hubcaps. I dont know too much about these. 4 Lug wheels are unique in there own way.
Thanks, I didnt realize when I got the 4 wheels, 3 of them are different? All are 4 lugs, but are different spoke styles? Maybe I will post pics if your interested in seeing them just for reference? -Gary
I have a couple for you to help me out with: This first one I got off a small old utility trailer that did not look home-made. It had hubs with left hand tread on the passenger side. The trailer had some very cool old fabrication but unfortunately it got stolen after I took the wheels off. At least I got the wheels! I'm sure the rest was scrapped by a crackhead. These are 16" and 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Odd center caps with an "S" The second wheel is one of only 3 (wish I had one more). It is also a 16" wheel that has a bolt pattern of 5 x 4.5" If anyone can get a hold of a decent matching single one for me PLEASE PM me. Thanks for all the ID help. -Scott
The Bottom Looks like my 36/7 Plymouth 16x4 5 on 4.5 Artillery wheels. I have 4 perfect ones... I bought 7 to get four good ones...Good luck finding a single, they are out there... I know where there are 4 Buick/Olds Artillery wheels for sale 5 on 5 I believe he wants $100 for all for... A steal if you can use them or have adapters... P.M. me for tyhe guys info if interested...I am looking for center caps to the bottom wheel if anybody has any
These are what I think your bottom wheel is... Could be wrong been wrong before.. I think they made 2 different kinds and yours has more openings than mine. But i do believe they are Plymouth wheels...
No, the bottom wheels are 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern, 16" kelsey hayes International Harvester pick-up wheels. I have an extra if the guy wants. The top wheels are 1930's studebaker wheels. I have sets of those too with the s for studebaker on the hub cap. I believe the bolt pattern is 5x5. And no, they are not plymouth wheels.
Did plymouth make 2 different styles One with more holes than the other? Curious I had a set with 14 holes I thought for sure where Plymouth
Dodge and plymouth did in fact share the similar wheel. They had a few variations of the artillery steel spoked wheel.
haha no they do get confusing! there are so many out there. It takes a long time to know which wheel is which.
I have a set of 16x4.5 with 5.5 bolt pattern and I thought these were sold as replacment wheels at tire stores in the 40's.
Those are plymouth/ dodge wheels as well. Those are factory equipped wheels. The 18-20" versions where the factory options you could buy in the late 30's. Good Wheels!
do you know what kind of wheels these are? I just inherited two trailers built with I-beam front axles, and ford rearend, in the rear.
5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern on 1930s Mopars? First I have ever heard of it.... every Dodge/Plymouth wheel I have seen has been 5 on 4 1/2 - either Budd Mfg, Kelsey Hayes or Motor Wheel Co.
MY FAULT! oops im sorry guys, when I saw the 16x4.5, for the wheel size, I saw the 4.5 and I went right to its a dodge/plymouth wheel. Its a ford. 5x 5.5. All those wheel companies made Ford version wheels too. Didnt want Kelsey Hayes to rule the market.
