Here is one in a 23 T bucket. 94 and up heads had 2 spark plugs per head. Yielding more gas mileage and performance.
Nickk...some of these guys will readily spend your money for you....lol. And they assume everybody has their skills, tools, time, knowlege, and dedication to "absolute" tradition...which generally does not exist. We all do our best to be as traditional as our wherewithal will allow, that's it. May I suggest that you're not wanting to do a traditional build, but more of a resto-rod? I like the idea. I've considered it myself. The modern 4cyl and trans will fit easily and run great. And of course, you can get parts easier and quicker. Totally traditional?...no. Totally functional and cool?...yes. I love hot rods...but I also like an original car...or at least original looking. Mohair, woodgraining, and all the rest... but with good dependable power, and the gearing to fly. My personal dream of late, is a '36 Buick Century coupe with a badass straight eight and a 5 speed trans. Totally stock looking, but hit the key, and RUMP-RUMP-RUMP! Mine would be old power, but basically the same idea as yours. Good luck.
I you are going to put a late model engine in there and keep the hood shut, why not just put in a V8? Probably cost the same, sound better, more fun to drive.
i am running a ford 2.3 w/5sp and open rear in an A mordoor. frame while not traditionally boxed was strengthened. also have an mII front end. it is a terrific road car and will cruise at interstate speed limit all day with good mileage, mid 20's. has been just a lot of fun w/ minimum problems.
