My next door neighbor picked this up less than 2 miles from my house. It was over the hill out of sight. We thought Essex but can't find a positive picture to identify it. It's already in the shop with a new firewall and the door bottoms patched. It will be a nice project. He wants to know what it is so he can put it on the title paperwork.

I think you nailed it. That's what the dash looks like.

The neighbor and son have removed the quarters and are doing a nice job of making a pickup cab out of the body. I'll post some more pics later.

He wants a pickup. I'll see if the rest is available, I don't think they are going to use the rear. It's turning out to be a real nice cab.

  12. Which model? Is it a Senior 6, DA, ?

To me that looks earlier, like a '26- shame he's taking a nice 3 window like that to make a PU out of it!

I had one just like it, a 28 Dodge. Mine was stolen by a guy that was supposed to do some interior work in exchange for the car. He took the car, but never did any of the work. I took him to court and he lied saying that he never saw the car, didn't know what car I was talking about and accused ME of lying about it all. I get pissed off when people take things from me, but I get even madder when they say that I was lying about them taking it! Well, I tracked down his old girlfriend (they did not end on a good note LOL) and she testified that she was there the day he picked it up. She also ID'ed the guy he sold it to. The new buyer testified that he had bought it from him. The judge got pissed off and granted me a judgement for over $7,000! He paid every penny too because the judge was going to throw him in jail for perjury if he didn't.

A little off topic, but what the hey. From what I understand it is now an almost complete street rod hailing from somewhere near Clinton Tennessee. Real nice thing about these is that they are "Budd" all steel construction and have no wood to rot out.

It's not a Victory,Senior or DA, because of the body lines on the door and the cowl is not imprinted. Also the hoels for the vacuum tank are on the wrong side, more in line with a four cylinder car. It MAY be a fast four or standard. As Mac said a pic of the dash would help. A pickup?? You got to be kidding!!

  15. Does he have any more parts from it- chassis, etc?

If it's a Fast Four, I might be interested in the rear, and Ol Deuce would want the engine.

There's nothing except what's in the photos, just the body minus deck lid.

  17. What a shame to cut up something uncommon just to make a truck, which are easy to find.

I don't think its a 1928 fast Four. I hauled one from Selby South Dakota to Bismarck North Dakota around 1970, and my '28 Fast Four had the Dodge imprint on the firewall with a circle with rays coming off of it. The firewall pictured doesn't have that imprint .

Southfork, you could be right about the firewall. It is similar but not exactly like my '29DA. But the doors and cowl are way differant then a Senior or Victory or DA. On a Victory and Senior the hood comes back almost to the windshield and DAs have the body line from the door run up onto the cowl. If it's '28-'29 we're running out of DBs.
