dont know about that my reaction times are getting slower as I age, Was caught having a snooze at last meet with a 1.5 sec reaction??? Then again the line girl was good to look at
Another trip by to see the two SENILE OL MEN. They said all parts are welded and most are ready for assembly. The car is on stands and headed for the door. It will go together at thier pace. Progress has come to a stand still on the Pit Cruiser for now, but will resume shortly I'm told. I have one more pic. The guy on the left is the fabrecator, the one on the right must be someone who just wondered in as I haven't seen him around before.
Like it, will not only look good, but will be a genuine racer, credit to them, and look forward to seeing more. Cheers, Drewfus
Oui - Hamb-stirrer - Had a look in your album Kev,( Yeh again ) That 4872 HA/GR must petes car-Absolutely a wild front end. All packed ready to go to Brisbane-be there on wednesday pm, for the test and tune. and Sat/Sun for the Nationals at Willowbank. Not a bad effort 7 HA/GRs from NSW in QUEENSLand. Oui-Oui _oui. Nigel will be there too and maybe 2 others. The boys are camping at the track on sat night i will be there too. Looking forward to see all its been nearly 12 month. JD.
Checked up on the "Senile Ole Men" and saw a little progress. They may not be moving real fast but they are moving. The car is beginning to take shape.
Another trip to check on the "Senile Ole Men" revealed some progress is being made between naps. Here are a few pic's taken today.
As previously mentioned, that car is going to haul 'donkeys' (ass) but why the tiny photo's..... Cheers, Drewfus
Hay Randy, in that one picture I see Larry doing some Engineering work, and he looks searious. I wish that I could speall.
More pic's from the world of the "Senile Ole Men". Well, they caught me with my decoder ring camera and said no more little pic's. They said if I was going to post any more pic's they better be big enough they can see them. Drewfus, Larry said to make sure you see these, so here goes.
Them old men do good work. They better hurry, by the time they get done every body else will be running 800cu inch motors.
I CAN SEEEEEeeee.....rock on !!! Progress looks sweet, although those fuel lines will be sucking a bit of air I think Cheers, Drewfus
With the skill level exhibited, I assume the boys made thier own front axle. Can anyone tell me what spindles they used? That is one beautiful machine they are building!
To Bring you up to date on the "Senile Ole Men" I have a couple of Pic's to post. The first pic was taken at the TTA reunion last Sat.. The second was taken at thier shop. The last was of an areo test to check for flow around the car at speed. A small problem of excessive down force on the rear of the car caused by too many louvers in the tail was discovered. They said "easy fix, hand me the hammer".
Very very excellent work. Now this is totally a unique rail, a engineering masterpiece. Congradulations!!! Now I want to hear it run & race, can't wait!!!
I was told the original concept of this car was to run at Bonneville and at the drags. It sure reminds me of the old Chrisman brothers rail that ran at the drags and at Bonneville. Anyway it is an awesome car that deserves every bit of praise it gets. The old men need a great big HAND. Roy
My first thought was "wow...air flow test for a HA/GR" I looked through the thread and didn't see anything, but are there any internal modifications to the motor?
