My wife was sifting through a bin of her late father’s photos and came across a couple of these pictures. Unusual in the fact that NZ mostly had practical cars,let alone a 2dr rag top . Short wheel base ,probably an anemic 4 cylinder English power. First couple of pictures are take on what we call the desert road, a high mountain area.
Only a tiny percentage were sold in the UK. Most went abroad. Styled to try and appeal to the US market to encourage exports to help pay off our World War 2 debt which we managed to finally settle in 2006.

Saw one at Shelsley a couple of years ago, took a photo and it stuck in my mind as I’ve never seen a right hand drive one before.
