I stopped by a buddy’s house today and he was gearing up to turn this axle into jackstands. I’m a little rusty on my early Ford axles but I could probably trade him some 35-36 bells for this whole axle if it’s worth having. I’ve been setting parts aside for an eventual T or A sedan project. I’m guessing 40’s from the juice brakes and shock mounts. I know some of you guys know.
I believe the brakes & spring hangers are 1941. A '48 axle would have a stud on the right spring hanger for the panhard bar. The shock brackets are after market.
Those shock brackets are aftermarket used for installing tube shocks. They are becoming hard to find so don't throw them away. They look like this with the top bracket.
