Technical ID this Injector/Hat.

Keep fingers crossed. Just discussed my idea with a very talented machinist.( he’s way over my head and works in the high end machining world) He seems to think he’s game. I’ll know in a couple /three days.

 

And so it begins. He’s gonna scan /and get a 3D etc/etc. He,s thinking the throttle plate needs to be at least 1 1/4 -1 1/2 thick so throttle plates have plenty to seal against. Will bore/ drill everything and then secure shafts and throttle blades. Figuring 5/16 shafts. Blades will be 1.9 give or take as needed. We are expecting it to add about and inch.

 

And so it begins. The miniature hat is complete. I’ll Stack Scotty Smith up against anyone. He has forgotten 10 times more than I’ll ever know. I don’t know what bar code or Maytag it is but it’s pretty.
He also used a precision hardened shaft /and fitted it so I know it’s dead on. As in .0005. And yes it all bolts to and fits the taper on the small Cal custom hat.
Got some welding to do and figuring the stops etc but it will be headed to 402BOSSMAN for the throttle blades the rest ( barrel valve /lines /and injector /nozzles and throttle arms /link will come out of the spare parts box. No I haven’t decided whether I am going Alky or gas.

Scotty deserves the credit. He has impressed me with everything he has done. I am XXXX on a stick compared to him. He makes the 3rd engineer/machinist I've ever seen that can do everything he says he can do.
