Hot Rods Ideas on v-8 mounts in 1947 International KB-1

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by runningiron, Apr 26, 2018.

  1. Looking for ideas on what works and doesn't work when installing sbc and t-350 into a 1947 International KB-1 with a stock frame. Thanks in advance.

Some fabrication will be required no matters what, but many bushing companies like Energy Suspension have universal motor mounts. Buy a pair, get the welder out and fab the frame mounts / crossmember.

  3. FrozenMerc, I had some Ch***is Engineering v-8 motor mounts and a trans crossmember for a 1947-1954 Chevy truck that I sold to a buddy as he needed some. I wish I still had them to check if they might work. Thanks runningiron

  4. For my son's truck, he bought the top portion of the engine mounts, and we are in the process of building the bottom mounts, that will be bolted inside the channel of the frame. We have dummy SB bare block fixed into position, and by using hugger headers, we will even clear the steering box.
We are using a B&M 700r4, and I will have to fabricate a single point mount for the back of the ******. The bottom of the firewall and transmission tunnel had been butchered by the previous owner, so I can't tell you whether the combination would fit in with an unmodified cab.

I guess if you have the skills to fab up a mount I would make a set of mounts using Ford flathead rubbers
