There was a guy,who owned a store that sold appliances on 27ave an US 1,in Miami FL.,but was an inventor too.
He designed n made car points, that had two wheels,vs normal was two pucks for points=Idea was they never burn,as they are turning as they work. He did this, just before HEI became the hot thing.=That ended points.

I saw someone selling this at a rodeo years ago, but have never actually seen it on a vehicle. The arms move down near the wheels and start spinning chains for snow driving.

Ha, I have had a vehicle or two like that. Not part of original design, however.

This looks like a forrunner to the Vac-U-Pan crankcase evacuation device used on drag cars to get negative pressure in the crankcase. Same Bernouille Principal. There probably wasn't enough exhaust gas massflow at idle to make it effective. WOT is better. LOL

The welded tube to the exhaust collector needed to be at the correct angle and the tube in the flow also needed the correct angle cut to attain the maximum suction. The gulp valve commonly used in the A.I.R. air pollution device which started use in 1966 vehicles made this device very useful.
