I once had a special tire pump hose that screwed into one of the spark plug holes. You ran the engine and it would fill a flat tire fairly quickly. It was noisy and would make the engine run rough even on a six cylinder. I imagine the tire could have a real blow out because there was fuel mixed in with the air.

Pulled this off my shelf for this thread. This goes way back, like to the later part of the 1800's.
