An auctioneer friend of mine is trying to ID this old car and I haven't been able to help him. He said it has a body by Fischer tag on the cowl and an overhead valve 6, and it has been cut down to a truck. I was thinking Buick but then I thought otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The H.A.M.B. world can figure it out I'm sure.
Nope, Olds didn't have the double body line like that. Looks like a '31 Chevy to me, judging by the bodylines and what little I can see of the firewall... the grille looks like it could be Oldsmobile though.
That is what a stock '31 Chevy bumper looks like though. The bumper on the one n.z.rodder posted isn't correct for a '31 Chevy. The grill, I'm not sure about. Early 30's Oldsmobiles had that kind of "winter front" shutter type grill... but it looks like a slightly different shape than any that I tried to match it with in pictures. I'm almost positive that car is/was a '31 Chevrolet. Do a google image search for 1931 Chevy and you will see almost every detail will match except the grill... and the grill not matching doesn't mean anything, because my '32 Olds had '31 chevy truck grill on it when I bought it. When it got damaged, they just went to the junk yard and found something that would fit close enough.
