I'm thinking a 30s-40s Riley or Triumph. I bet it's right hand drive.

The body lines and door handle make me think it's a late 20's Pontiac. That relief in the door for the fender as well as the visor are throwing me off as well. That vent in the side of the cowl is the key feature.

Looking at the pictures again, I'm thinking pasadena is right in his thinking it's something European.

  5. The body lines look like '27 Chevrolet, but Chevy didn't have vents (don't know if Pontiac did) and that trunk/spare carrier is NOT stock.

The give-away to me is that m***ive T-bar mount system for the headlamps, and likely horns and roadlamps up front between those widespread high crown fenders.
That screams European and for me English in particular.

Agreed! That spare tire well seems pretty typical in European makes as well.

  8. Definitely not Pontiac.

I don,t think it was made in America. It,s on the narrow side. The fire wall looked to be made of wood and the spare tire Mont looks like it,s factory made. I was thinking Bantum or Austin. But i can,t find a picture of a three window. This may of been sports coupe. The windshield is made of br*** and it swings out.

It does not appear to be a hardtop. Looks like it would have been more like a sports coupe.

I've exhausted about all the IS makes and not a single one of them had that type of setback wheelbase. I would agree it's probably not US made.

Austins DID have a cowl vent on the side like that. Hmmmm...

...went through every year from 1925 to 1935. The cowl vent and wheels base is VERY similar in various makes but everything else totally different.

there's some REALLY odd little details about that car!

the upper section of the reveal is NOT part of the body stamping! it appears to be riveted pot metal

check out those barrel looking door hinges! totally awesome!

the small notch for the fender clearance on the door.

    the very narrow rear fenders

this one is tough.. I have been looking for a while now getting nothing done trying to figure this one out.

Looks like around '27-'28 is when chrysler and lasalle started using supports for the headlight bar, but this car looks too small to be even close to either. Although Chrysler had a "four" model that was smaller.

Here's some things i noticed that might help.

Stanchions for light on top of fenders (maybe more expensive model?)
    obvious headlight bar
    Unique door handle
single top cowl vent and side vent
    2 door hinges
    unique beltline
    unique visor support
small trunk lid w/ 2 latches
    spare tire carrier
nocth in door for wheel well.

Wish there was a search engine we could plug this into and get an answer haha

    Fiat 514 is close

Still trying to find out what this is. It seem that the two previous owners had no clue what make this is. So I hope the Sunday crowd can help. Thanks George

It is not a Chrysler product. Looks to small to be an Es*** or Studebaker.
I think it was part of the British invasion.

Maybe it's an Oakland. Here's a couple pics from the web. 1928 Sport Cabriolet and a 1929 Coupe

1928 Erskines had a straight headlight bar like that. They were, I think, a little smaller than their Studebaker brethren.

After looking at many pictures I believe this to be an American bantam coupe 1929/1930 vintage. How good would this look with a hemi in it!
    Thanks for all your suggestions.

I don't think Austin made a true coupe, they offered what was known as a Cabin Coupe but it was reall more like a short sedan. The front fenders are also too long for an Austin.
