Does anyone know anything about this car? We just bought it from the El Paso area. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii177/saltracer1/studebaker024.jpg
Does it have a straight axel? Does it look like it has been a race car or just a big hole in the hood?
I dont think it was a an old gasser with a mustang two, most likley a street rod that didnt get finished, The front end also looks too wide for the car. I would put a staight axel and radius the rear wheels and make a gasser
I don't think the frontend is too wide. Look at the offset and width of those wheels; they're too much for that frontend. With narrower wheels, and more backspace they would be nicely tucked in. I also think it was somebody's streetrod, not an old gasser.
It seems so much longer that we've been working on this car, but here it is, moving under it's own power for the first time.
557 cubic inches of Henry Ford's finest with a Powerglide. That's what we were told as we have not been in the motor. Sounds pretty healthy though. Phil
HELL YEA! We run with the Southern Gassers. Fairly new group out of Miss., Al. and La. Might make Day of THe Drags at Temple, Texas and Texas State Championship in San Antonio.
I have to agree with all of that. It looks great. That car is going to be a handful at Temple. Make sure it has damned good brakes if you run at that track.
My partner on the car (John Gross) does most of the work on the car. I guess I could be called a "junior partner" as I am also younger than John.
Sonny's Racing Studebaker site isn't infected.... He's just sick of foriegn spammers getting in and messing his site up. So he has cranked his ISP filters way up. Unfortunately, it catches some ISP's that use multiple addresses. (AOL for example)... Jeff
