Can anyone identify who made this valve cover? It has no markings or casting marks anywhere. Thanks!

    is that yours?

    or a picture of brock49ford's?

because his was the only one I'd seen till this.

looks like a Moon/Holmes cover with the half globe casting from the center of a fifty something steering wheel set in it.

Ya know that is something different, I've got Edelbrock, weiand, offy's,a super rare pair of Algons, Even seen some early Andersen Engineering covers that look like they were cast from a 4x4 but, I've never have seen a pair with the Saturn in the middle of them. Thanks for the pic.

They're mine, Paul wins a prize. I think that I'll just make something up and go with it until somebody calls "bullshit" and tells me what they are.:)

Thanks for f_____ with the FNG. They are probably some Moons that were carved out with a 88 trim piece added for fun.

Since we are doing this...Here is a better picture. The fins are clearly cast to have the saturn in there. Same mold lines as on the end of the fin. They were definatly cast this way.

I think they might have been. That is the second set that has popped up. The other set was crustier.

If they were cast by either Holmes or Moon, it should say on the underside. Both those makers put their names inside.

FWIW, speaking of Holmes covers, I once owned a pair of Holmes prototype covers that were much more square and as heavy as lead bricks. I sold them to a gent in AZ several years ago. I think they were prototypes anyway, as they were fairly crude in design, each were painted a different color, and I have never seen any others like those in 16 years of heavy Olds hounding. Anyone ever see any of what I'm talking about?

Was there a company name "Holmes" that made covers? Was the name embossed in them?

from what I understand Holmes was the name of the foundry where Moon covers were cast, their name would be small and cast on the underside of the covers

There are no names or numbers anywhere on these. Another thing that seems different than the Holmes or Moon covers is that there is no additional support around the mounting holes on the inside. Blownolds, I think that the crusty ones were this pair before I cleaned them up. These sucker are heavy too as you mentioned. I bet that they weigh 5lbs per cover.

In that case, they remain on the unique list!

But those other early Holmes prototype (?) covers I had were more like 10 Lbs. each....
