    ...I looked thru my Catalog of American Autos book and could not find any photo that matched this car,
    none with that grille or hood side louvers?

    The grille pattern to my eye, appears to be an Auburn.
    Upon on closer inspection, I think @j hansen has nailed it, the hubcaps and artillery wheels match, and the leaning back hood ornament appears to be the same, so that fooled me.

    I'm thinking 1934 Buick. I can't quite tell which series.

  12. This pic is a 1934 Olds touring sedan that a buddy of mine put together in the late 70s. Not a real common body style. I think the 1933 - 1935 Oldsmobile models shared the same basic body design. The original pic has a split quarter window that looks like it might be a vent window, so maybe that was a feature that this 1934 model did not have?
    Anyway, looks we may have narrowed it down for you at least.
