it does look like a maxwell .i looked at those too .Looks like now im gonna look for some overland stuff for it ,but one question? are all overlands made by willys in those years?
Don't know who made the wood structured bodies, but in 24 Budd Bodies built the "Overland 4" bodies. If I remember right Budd also built the Dodge bodies, some of the structure pieces might be the same. Be interesting to compare same years of both. Willys-Overland Inc. Toledo Ohio built the Overland 1903-26, Whippet 1926-30, Willys 1930-52, Willys-Knight 1914-32. Interesting company.
wow ,.so it looks like what happened is that overland had 1923 champian cowls and 2 hinge doors from the 4 cylender coupes and decided to use them up before making the change of the cowl and hinges and really didnt care if it confused the hek outa someone like me 90 years later. But if anyone has a better theory than i really welcome any thoughts or pictures .thanks.
the reason im saying that mine is a 24 is because of the curved dash is on all those .So close enough for me man ,imma gonna appley for the ***le now and catch up on lost sleep.and then drive this loud thang.
Definitely not a Maxwell. Visor is different and the Maxwell closed cars had cowl lamps and a different body contour.
ya ,it just kinda looks like it,. Hey thanks for the budd info studeynut. It's starting to make more since.
heres the c.l. picture thing ( first right click on desired pic and then left click on copy image URL and then go to hamb without right clicking anything else and then go advanced on the 2 choices under and then move mouse arrow to thyat square that says insert image and then right click and then left click paste and then submit repley.
"i think mine was a four door, cuz it just has 2 doors now but it has the double sided latches on both sides" The body manufacturer sure coulda used the same pillar for both body styles -- let alone different manufacturers. I'd bet there were still almost 100 "manufacturers" in the 20's. And a lot of them were "***embled".
100! hahaha closer to 700 before the 29 depression. A lot of small companies only lasted 1-2 years and a lot with no pictures or drawings. My spotters guide has picture or drawing of 100 different makes just from Ace to Hupmobile. I got tired of counting. A lot of different designs on a lot of cars. Any one notice the front suspension design of the overland? interesting. Wonder how that would work on a track roadster, hidden in the nose? One of the reasons I love the odd makes.
ya i think they wouldnt make new doors posts ,if they were making just a few 2 doors .i know i would'nt .There was this thing in the late 70's where gm had a bunch of 350 chevy motors and they just put them in whatever ,like firebirds. Those old cars are like the old movies .they say a huge percentage of the luaral and hardy films and other comedies are gone like way over half.
ya ,1920's cars are like a persons face .there's all different types and a lot of them look alike until you know that face and then you can tell it easily. even when it's twins ,like some of the car makers.
Hey where'd everyone go? did i say something? Well ok bye thread .Thanks again to everyone that helped .
it is .I was just being a kookoo bird .,and i was in the bussiness of trying to figure the thing out for so long ,that i didnt know what to do now? I need to sell stuff so i can finish my progects. i spent the day making a steering wheel for my 27 dodge coupe .It took forever .It's the one with the double keyway and big opening . harder than i thought it was gonna be.
