Thats a small pic but from the looks of it, it could be one of several models. The cantilever frame would indicate later 50's to early 60's middle weight. The front truss could also indicate one of the mid models. It could be a hornet missing the tank and rack or a jaguar missing the tank and rack. I don't know if the typhoon had the truss rods in the front but I don't think so. Jag or Hornet missing the tank and rack from the late 50's or early 60's. Sometimes the chaingaurd yeilds some info.

Need a closer pic than that, better from the other side. Is there any script on the chain guard, what color and style badge on the front? The serial numbers will either be on the bottom of the crankcase (Pre 52) or on the right rear dropout(post 52) Starting in 54 a lot of frames were middleweights instead of ballooners. Then starting in 65 the 2nd digit is a letter. Starting in 72 the serial is on the headtube I think. Some other tell tales are the tire dimensions, seat, post, gooseneck, chainguard, style. A serial number will tell all (with exceptions)Schwinn serial numbers before August 17, 1948 were lost in an office fire. Several different numbering systems were used and sometimes the same numbers were reused in different years. Heres my 72 stingray

Schwinn? Does is have a Schwinn badge? It looks like a non-Schwinn wraparound badge? Those are JCHiggings (Sears) fender braces, chainguard and truss rods. Early 60's.

it is a wraparound badge that says schwinn

  7. It does not look like a schwinn to me. Pm me the serial # which if it's old is under the bottom bracket, if it,s not as old it will be on the outside of one of the rear dropouts. I have a very good serial # list...
