I have two of these wheels and would like to identify them. 15x6 with a large offset, 5 on 5 1/2" lug pattern. No nubs for hubcaps, no windows. I thought maybe they are Mercury, but don't recognize the symbol stamped inside the rim.. If anyone knows what they are or better yet, has two nice ones they would like to sell, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have a pair of similar wheels, found they were marked '55 Lincoln with paint stick when I demounted the tires. I can double check the stamping numbers (after the storm) if interested.

I have a pair of 5 on 5-1/2 Jeep truck wheels I use for mock-up; hu****ous would be a better adjective than BIG for the center hole.

The stamping on the inside is the insignia for Kelsey Hayes. With the safety bead, should be early 60s? Most I.H.C. wheels were 4.5" bolt pattern accept the later scouts. I'm leaning towards Chrysler full size.

2 wheel drive Jeepster had small center hole . Just my guess . Trailer wheel is my next guess

  11. Wheels with a lot of positive offset like those suggest that they may be for clearing calipers with a disk brake set up

[IMG] I think they are from a 1950 "baby" Lincoln . I had a set a few years ago , were exactly the same. hubcaps fit inside the rim so no need for clips.

    aftermarket solids........? (By Kelsey Hayes)
Ones shown look amazingly good for 60 plus years old.
most original wheels of that era had gaps between where the hoops/rims were riveted to the centre piece, so that should narrow down possibilities considerably.
Why the 3 extra little holes, maybe someone has screwed wheel covers on them ?

this week I have been mostly looking at wheels
    1961-1966 FORD F100 FACTORY STEEL WHEEL 15X6 5 ON 5.5 | eBay

this/\ looks the same as yours
but I ask , where are the nubs for in or out caps
-so It must have had a full cap from the get go
    -so its not f100
its riveted and sans snap bead, so pre dates the inception on that
    -
the other one I forgot all about was valve stem hole size, , because IF it takes a tube,
the hole is larger than a tubeless latter style.

so it is actually three reasons, snap bead, rivet, valve stem
-well 4 if you consider custom offsets, as to why you get new aftermarket wheels.
oh- 6 if you count inner nubbed for caps

beg your pardon and sorry for banging on...... but
is there anything to the taper at the wheel nut, considering you can get ****on or conical wheel nuts
does the angle of the taper remain the same throughout , or IF you go and buy new acorn bulge nuts, do you get full seating

    thread crash...
are these 1965 ford f100 wheels
    single wheel.jpg
considering the saftey beads and welded construction was a requirement from 1968
if they are 1965 what are the chances of them being equipped with welds and beads
seems really groovy that you can fit a 1940 cap on a 1965 wheel
    note to self.....
note witness mark on wheel of where oringinal innie style f100 cap may have sat
    -outside diameter = 9.5?
inner click in at nubs - is it 8 1/8?

They didn't have safety beads in'50, here is the beveled backside of a '50 Lincoln wheel.

That's closest example though, wonder if the back bevel was changed at a later date, while the center of the wheel remained the same? Does the OP's wheel have four nubs on the wheel shell for a full wheel cover?

  21. Might that large center hole be for 4-wheel drive?
    What size is the hole?

No hubcap nubs guarantees they are for either a fancy car with full wheelcovers, or a utility vehicle that never had any hubcaps.

They are really nice. The 3 small holes are from when I thought I was going to use them on my coupe with Moon discs.

This is the pair I have, one "junkyard" marked "55 LIN" the other LINCOLN. The same stamping on yours; but didn't see one on the other. Riveted, no safety beads, big valve stem hole, no inside or outside hub cap bumps, no vents.

It appears that Rich B came up with a match- '55 Lincoln. Thanks to everyone for their responses. Merry Christmas and wishes for a much improved New Year.

I can’t answer your question about Ford specifics but FWIW the ad in the link says they are for Volvo
