    Looked for a place to post this, and rather than dredge up some old threads......
    (BTW, is there a forum or sub-forum for this kind of question?)

    Brother likes to attend auctions and gave me this odd-looking vise or clamp.

    The jaws are not parallel and I tend to think they may be made for pipe.
    The numerals 1 and 2 are very pronounced.

    Looks like a sort of front of a top attachment to a windshield bracket for a 1920s open car, to me. Just a guess.
     
  3. The 3 fingers look like they might work as a chain stretcher, although a chain stretcher normally has 2 fingers.
