I've got a 36 Ford fordor that's all stock. The car came as a rolling ch***is with the drive line in it and the body shell sort of mounted the frame. I think Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles may have put it on. Everything else was in unlabeled boxes. After a lot of where the F*** does this go I got it all together, minus a missing fuel pump. This is where the flathead idiot part come in. Will any flathead fuel pump work or do I need to find a 32-36 pump?
You should be able to run fuel pumps up through 48, but, as I remember it, the rod that drives the pump has to be the right length.
Just go to your local auto parts store. I got one for my 35 at O'reillys down here in Oklahoma. They stock them in their warehouses. Napa's website says that it is an AFP 591. Hope that will help.
Use the common '35-48 fuel pump stand. Look at back end of manifold.and the distance from bottom of manifold to the flat where FP stand sits. It will be somewhere around 1" or about 2" high. There are tow pushrods, differing by an inch... Any 1934-48 pump will fit. I think the gl*** bowl '46-48 is available everywhere, the all metal model used originally '41-46 is also readily available.
