got the carbs they came with a mounting spacer that has a piece of metal coming down into the manifold that's shaped in a V , should I use it or not, what the purpose of it?

I ended up just going to a 1 carb manifold and it runs good going down the road but at idle it pops out the exhaust I'm thinking maybe a sticky valve but I don't seem to hear it pop while driving although maybe I just don't hear it, is there something in the w-1 that would be causing it to pop while at idle?

    Thread has become bulky.

    Which engine ?

    Which W-1 ?

There is nothing in a correctly functioning W-1 that is the proper size for the engine that is going to cause the pop.
