Whilst working on my 64 Fairlane I decided to replace the OEM (manual steer) idler arm and centre (Drag) link bushing with NOS items I had. It seems that there was a change in March 64 to other bushings. Anyway my NOS bushing are too large in diameter and there is insufficient parent metal to safely ream out the idler arm or centre (Drag) link to fit them.
I've unsuccessfully searched E-Bay and multiple other suppliers et al to locate the correct sized OEM bushings. I want to maintain originality and would prefer to NOT use polystyle bushings or have bushings machined to fit.
Any suggestions as to who may have what I require as I need to get it off the hoist as soon as possible to rebuild the 700R in my 35 Chevy.

My OEM bushing are very similar in height however the diameters are different (Orange) to match current eyes on my idler arm and centre (Drag) link.

Have you tried rare parts? Rare parts usually has the hard to locate nos stuff from companies like oem, moog, etc. My understanding is they buy out old warehouses and manufacturers close out items.

I don't have a number for them but should be easy to find.

Bought alot of stuff from them thru the yrs. Although I don't remember what part was bought last (about 6 months ago) it was a "new" part with made in China sticker on it.

The quality was OK but it was better than nothing.

Moog catalog shows K8042 (two bushings) to March 2 1964, and K8094 and K8139 after that date. No dimensions given. Each only fits a couple years.

looks like there are some NOS and repop on ebay. Who knows if/when they would get to you down there.

You could probably update to the 65 steering components, which were likely a mid 64 production change, and feature the larger diameter bushings.

All the bushing identified so far feature the longer idler arm bushing and not the shorter drag (Centre) link bushing. The cross reference with Galaxie (K8042) is 1.75"L X 1.29"Dia (Outside ) x .634" (Inside). It's almost impossible to locate OEM drag (Centre) link bushing (1.124"). Just clarifying Moog K8139 measurements.
All current shipping down here costs $$$ and takes forever, AUSPOST has lost my 2 x local deliveries despite tracking with over 2wks delay in release by customs.
I've asked a machinist to possibly enlarge eye to suit larger bushing provided there is sufficient surrounding parent metal.

Here's a drag (Centre) link with larger bushing installed.
