    Greetings all
Just another pandemic induced brain dropping:

    If I were a car

I’d be a 1948 model created during the post war manufacturing boom. A standard model with the normal features any new owner could hope for. Things like: no missing parts due to careless assembly, a reasonably pleasing exterior and running gear that hummed along effortlessly.

Although there were some initial leaks, they were manageable, and eventually were brought under control. And I never had a factory recall!

As I got older, regular maintenance helped keep me going year after year. Shoe replacement at the slightest sign of wear, with new ones always close at hand if needed. Fluid levels maintained, the usual exterior upkeep, with special attention paid to my grille. Every so often a check of my internals just to look for any wear and tear that might hamper my performance.

And here I am after all these years on the road, still humming along. Oh sure, I have a few squeaks here and there, my exterior has been well maintained and the roof has lightened up considerably. But I’m proud that I still have much of my original equipment. My headlights aren’t as bright as they once were, but I don’t go out much at night. My grille’s teeth still have all of their shine. My original muffler has aged from a sharp bark, to a low mellow rumble, and I have a small leak from my lower hose occasionally.

I feel like I have a few good miles left in me, and with proper maintenance and care, should be able to enjoy however many of those “miles” come my way.

When my time comes, I hope I’m parked on a hill overlooking a well traveled road that runs East to West, so that passersby can see a relic of a time when things were made with pride and to last more than one model year.

    Be well and, honk, honk!
    Jeff

If I was a car I would have started life as a hotrod and grew up into an overweight under powered family sedan with a cracked block and a slipping transmission.:)

Hmmm I don't know what kind of car I would have been. Probably have been a full sized car. A little over weight and couldn't pass a gas station for a drink.

    This is easy!
If I were a car and it was let's say......... 1965, it would be an L79 optioned Nova.
Now, as long as were dreaming and I could choose my driver....................
Oh, let me think, maybe............Bill Jenkins.
    Life would be good!

I would be Period Correct, Hamb friendly and be the Hotrod I own...it's in my blood and I have had the good fortune to enjoy an inspiration created by a Hamber who captured the period of 1960-64 pretty convincingly...the spirit of many are intertwined within the structures of many a vintage car in this Jalopy of sorts and like me it's FAR from perfect but makes the cut...I certainly won't be the last but my spirit will be but just another to have experienced what it had to offer...;)

Not sure what kind of car I'd be exactly but I would have loud pipes and smoke a bit and have golf clubs in the trunk and be alcohol injected and be gloss black and have a hot little chick sitting on my tuck and roll.

I'd be a sad donor parts car. Slowly stripped with my vitals removed so others may live.

  20. I would be a 54 Ford. It was a good year for Ford's and some of the people born that year turned out alright too.

I’d be something that’s getting older and slower.

One thing is for sure, there's times I would not pass emissions standards! Lol

  27. Being a 63 model, I would like to be a split window Corvette. But more likely the Riviera fits better. By now I am still a decent survivor, running and driving good. Few small dents and scrapes. Suspension worn but functional. Not meeting current safety and emissions stds. But still have a lot of good years left.

  28. I'd be my avatar. Nowadays though, I'd look like I've missed the hairpin at the Nurburgring with the track crew standing around shaking their heads waiting for the tow truck....

I am the same year as my avatar. It rolled off the assembly line a week after I was born. So we are almost twins. So we have connected over 34 years and 70 thousand miles. Sometimes I`m the car. And sometimes it is me. People know I`m around when they see it.
