I'm very happy with the projects I have now and would like to have them finished in a vintage barn type garage. With the leftover funds I'd like to build a STEAM powered liner for Bonneville and be the first guy in the 200MPH club under steam power.

I would take my 32 3 window body and frame and drop it off with Brian Bass and tell him take his time!!!!! And I would be on my way to buy the 32 roadster body I have found and Brian could have his way with it too.

  5. I dont find 65 Buick Skylarks bizarre! I drive one damn near every day!:D Mine would just look a hellova lot better than it does now.LOL.
I would build a 58 'Vette, because theres something about driving a car thats as old as you are. I would first drive it to Chicago,Then follow old route 66 all the way to the beach! Just 'cause I could! After that, I would follow highway 101 up the coast northbound for home.{and if the wife wants to come along, thats okay too. HAhahaha!} By that time, the garage/warehouse would be done and the sky's the limit from there!

1955 Mercury. Bone stock exterior plus a continental kit. Deep red suede paint job with a wimbledon white top, wide whites with original wheelcovers. 427 Cammer plant paired with a custom fab '4 on the tree.' I'll die a happy man!

Well lets see.....to start with I would need a HEMI WILLYS. Something with enough motor to carry the front tires across intersections. Then it would have to be an early BARRIS car, an AGOSTINO car, or the OZ T BIRD. I would have to put my wife in a NOMAD wagan ala Home Improvement/Jill Taylor. To finish it off I would need something without a roof....possibly a nice early style hi boy roadster.
or maybe a.....and how about a......but then theres a.......

i think people will build things different because there is no limit ...but not to say they would build what they love.just like a pro athlete or a pop star they buy something so overpriced to make sure they are the only ones with it,but thats not how most of us would do it.when theres no budget we lose some of our creativity and pay someone else for theirs.when i see a piece of history with ardun heads and its a survivor from its hay day its super cool....but to say money were no object and to try to duplicate it,it would be in vein.but thats just one mans opinion!

one like this...but with nothing more than flight surfaces and a giant engine I think I may be afraid to "drive" it.

I'd clone 2 cars...Phantom Corsair, and the "Bonneville Bomber",the sexiest 39 Ford coupe I've ever seen..or if I had enough money, maybe I could buy the originals..and if I'm not limited to just one car, then a stable full,in a NASCAR sized garage..and maybe I'd have enough money to finish the cars I already own...

A 60's style hotrodded Deuce woody.
41 Willys sedan (I'd find my pop's old one)
E493A English Ford Prefect with a hipo inline 6, turbos etc in it, but keep it looking stock on the outside.
A big full fendered 4 door sedan, 34-35 Dodge, Buick or similar, 500ci Caddy, overdrive auto, all the luxury gear inside, modern wires, air, power everything.

    Cheers, Glen.

With a gob of cash, I'd pay a high quality builder to make it for me!
It would... be a daily driver, reliable as a rock, built to my specs, get great mileage, be real fast, have great ergo and visibility and all the creature comforts. I would come with a lifetime warranty for labor on any repairs.

Then I'd drive the shit out of it, rain or shine, sleet or snow and take it back to get fixed every time the really important stuff like the motor or trans failed, the wipers didn't wipe, the heater didn't heat, the AC didn't AC, the window or door seals leaked or anything else you'd expect on a normal, factory-built, 14K econobox to be reliable, failed on my prize build.

I might also get a well-tuned, high maintenance lady and membership in the gold chainer club to match.

But until then.... back at to the real world. Gary

I think I'd buy a restored car as I'm somewhat satisfied with the cars that I own.
I'll take one just like this one, only with a 4 cylinder because it's much rarer .......Mike

My chrysler hot rod. The very first car I've just thrown money at. It takes a long long time to finish one when you're not wealthy :(

It is however, on a higher plane of existence than the rest of the fleet. Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can buy a double-throwdown bitchin car. :)

The guy who owns a company across the street from me built this. He's the guy that has the Troy Caddy I posted a while back. I don't know his financial status, but everything he has is freaking awesome and he seems to build whatever he wants. Seems like a very cool thing to be able to do. Oh, that's a Lingenfelter ZR1 attached to a 6 speed.

Me, I'd probably build a '27 Ford roadster with a damn Hemi in it and kill myself the first drive.:D

  28. I really think the only way deep pockets would affect a build for me would be in the engine department. I would have an Ardun. I can envision quite a nice stable of various types of cars, but as far as having someone else build my hot rod...naw...I would leave that concept to the George Poteets of the world.
