The new Looneymum 350 Flathead, when whoever is making them now can get their shit together with the sleeve placement issues .

  3. Sometimes money has a not-so-funny way of changing the way we do stuff. I doubt I'd ever go exotic. But just for kicks & grins, if $$$ was no issue I'd opt for a '42 Ford convertible, dressed like an early 50s hotrod. Second choice would be a '41 Ford vert, made up same way.

Blown, injected 426 or larger HEMI. It's gotta have Mickey Thompson valve covers and the finned Weiand pump drive timing cover. Hilborn injector scoop. Block ground smooth. Aluminum heads polished to look like chrome. Chrome zoomies. Runs on alcohol. No, hell with that - NITRO!

  12. Good lord I have a list longer than is reasonable (a few I have owned because they fell in my lap) but the ultimate for me would be one of the turbine engines that they outlawed at Indy.

Always wanted one as long as they have been around.

  14. Blown Hemi-(if I had a Willys, or early Mopar coupe/pickup), Ardun Flathead-(in any early Ford car/pickup). Since money usually is an issue-Briggs and Stratton 5hp.

1954 packard straight 8 359cui, 9 main, Aluminum head, custom cam, bigger bore, stroker kit, custom headers, 4-71 supercharger, probably a single 4b carb or a few dueces would be cool. And a good cruisin tranny to back it up.

  25. A Leo Goosen aluminum overhead cam Studebaker V8.

In '52 or '53 Studebaker decided to promote their new V8 by fielding a Stude powered Indy team. They forked over $250,000 to JC Agajanian to head the effort, and he turned to the old master Leo Goosen (of Miller / Offy fame) to make the motor raceworthy. Goosen created a 4-6 sets of beautiful overhead cam aluminum heads.

The 2 Stude cars never finished above #20 in a couple years of Indy competion and the program was scrapped. A couple pairs of the heads survived, and here's the kicker -- one set actually made it into a hot rod in 1960. Engine builder Gale Banks got one set of heads when he was 18 and used them to build a motor for his friend's '32 Plymouth coupe. Whereabouts unknown. I pray that coupe is still in a barn somewhere, cuz man-o-man.

    just a stock 348, I don't ask for much

  28. If money was no option, I'd get my hands dirty inside all kinds of different motors - Stude V8s, Hudson sixes, Packard V8s, early Hemis, and I'd have a stockpile of Pontiac 455's enough for a couple dozen cars at least.

If money was enough of an option to only be able to choose one motor, it would depend some on the car it's going in, but likely be a Pontiac -
