    Money is always an issue.

I like the blown 454 in my 55, I built it at a time when I had a bunch of extra cash. 20 years ago. Even so, I built it on a set budget.

if money weren't an issue, then neither would the vehicle I wanted to put it in. My choice would be:

a pratt and whitney wasp major R-4360 shoehorned into a corsair. also known as an F2G or "Super Corsair". It's the hot rod of the prop plan world. lets stuff the biggest engine in it we can!

lot of responses are for a Ford version of a Mopar

or some other run of the mill mill

    'don't know what I'd choose
but it would probably be a one of a kind
    piece of perfection
even then I don't see it costing much more than a million or two..

  25. man...you beat me to it as far as the engine goes...I'd be the fool that figured out how to put it in something with four wheels. I've been looking at those smaller radials that people put in those 1/2 scale replica fighters..but money is still an issue. :p

and that was my second choice...in an econoline. Sure, it'd be an aerodynamic brick, but what a quick little brick it would be.

  26. I'd like a 572 ci HEMI in a '63 Plymouth Belvedere I two-door sedan, complete with blower, dual carbs, alcohol, and enough torque to rotate the Earth the opposite direction!

A Rolls-Royce Merlin engine in a Bonneville car would be another "if $$$ were no object" pick. I like hillbilly's idea in an Econoline, but if I were to go that way, my Merlin would go in a Dodge A-100 pickup...kinda like the "Maverick", but no wheelstands!

The little Offenhauser Four-Bangers were amazing little engines, too! An Offy would be cool in the ultimate sleeper four-banger - a Metropolitan coupe!

And, of course, the Chrysler Turbine Car engine in something!

as long as you don't go wild and want to put more than one R4360 in that four wheeled contraption I'm with ya! I wouldn't want to do a plug change on more than one 28 cylinder radial engine at a time .....:D

just imagine a B-36. 6 of em, that's 168 spark plugs without getting into the four jet engines to maintain

I am pretty lame I guess I would want the baddest FE motor ever the twin supercharged super snake shelby FE for my Galaxie! That way when I open my hood people would say "HOLY SHIT! What That !?" I can say "oh...that? well thats my F@ckin Engine" cause thats what FE stands for.
