mine would be sorta duel perpise.i want a aluminum 500ci amc motor from indy.{800 hp}then put a potivin supercharger on the front of it.then i would put a turbonique rear in it with a 1000hp for alittle extra kick in it.

i think with these two modifacations i could get a car to run some pretty good times at the track.LOL

  5. Lessee,what's it goin' in?...

    For the Sport Fury,I'd take a 493 or 512 inch RB,with a Max Wedge-type heads/intake/carburetion on top. I will admit that a aluminum-block Hemi of equivalent displacement,with a cross-ram,'natch, would be intriguing as well.
    If I had a '32 Highboy,a cammer would be titties,but...how about a 427 FE variation;tunnel-port,perhaps? Or even a BIG-inch small block. The same(FE motor) would also work in a 32,33,or34 coupe,,or a '40 coupe.
Now if I had a Willys gasser...blown 392. Period. End of discussion,

    This was multiple choice,wasn't it?

Dude, you are sick! And I mean that in the best way. I have never seen a real Turbonique setup in person. The day I do I'm probably gonna stare and drool like a zombie 'till they take me away.

wouldnt it be cool to have an extra 1000 hp.just in case you need it!!!!!i think with my "little"motor and upgrades i should have a nice daily driver with only about 2500 hp on tap.is should be enough to at least 65mph{lol}i just talked to my friend and he has the rear section of a turbonique.i cant wait to see it.

It would depend on the car I was putting it in.

I like 'em all...but lately I've been thinking about a 421 Pontiac Super Duty.

In my '56 Ford Customline: A SOHC 427. Actually, I'd be happy with a 427 wedge, side oiler.
In my '37 Chevy coupe: A 327/375 fuelie Vette motor
    I wouldn't pass up on a 409 either. Maybe even a "balls-out" 302 Jimmy six.

    Hmm, it would have to be a 30-31(?) Caddy V16 for my '31 A. Or a rolls-royce merlin(sp?).

Jaguar 3.8 Liter. Such a beautiful Engine!

I agree they are. i couldnt find a 3.8 for my next rail so settled on a 3.6. Not as pretty but for $300 with everything I decided not to let it get away.
Still if a 3.8 showed up i would be sorely tempted.

    So, even if i were Oprah-rich i still wouldn't spend wildly;

    1) gm crate 350
    with these 32 valve heads:
    http://www.araoengineering.com/Chevy/chevysmb.htm

    4 2bbl weber carbs on a 4x2 manifold

    180 degree headers.

So, for about 14k a pretty responsive, fun engine used for daily transportation in the valley (remember, i'm Oprah-rich, so i live in the valley) This would be installed in a corvette or other car of similar size-weight.

    2) gm crate 454 with 6-71 blower and mechanically fuel injected or if that is not feasible, then the injector"hat" thing on top of the blower as an air filter/carb housing. This would be for the SUV. i'm still being rather sensible with money here.

    3) Of course, if i really were Oprah-rich, then i would get these two but that's it:

    http://www.thunderv12.com/thunderv12_gmc_v12_home

    and
    http://www.falconerengines.com/bio/bio_v12.php

So, all this, total is still not exhorbitantly costly; To me, the advantage of having alot of money is that you don't have to work as much or at all. Other than that, everything is basically the same.

i think other than that, i would get a heated swimming pool and the fastest internet possible. i would be happy living in a trailer provided it was comfortable enough.

I wouldn't own one of those in a car because it would rarely run and when it was running it would rarely run right. They are a HUGE maintenance nightmare. All I want to do with that motor is listen to it, not own it.

I'm not sure I could pick just one. Something V-8 with high compression, that's as close as I can get. (Although that Offy is really tempting...)

How come that motor? What about the 907 16 valve? All alloy. Drop in sleeves. Many, many RPMs in there. Just wondering.

The one I'm saving and collecting parts for. 347SBF with 3-2 and the proper 200cfm Holly's and ceramic tri y headers. It will go into my 62-1/2 Falcon Futura.

A compound turbo'd 425 Nailhead, now that would be one badass stump puller!
