  1. I'm watching the hell out of this post. This is slick.
Good to see that the up and commers are going to be here when I'm dead and gone and that they have their head on straight.

So let me get this straight. I young man takes the time and thought to see if there are others out there building cars and the first thing done is to correct his grammer.

I don't care how old you are, when you were 18, 19 or 20, did you speak in a language that your parents or grandparents could completely understand?

It is a wonder why any young men or women would want to be a part of this at all (maybe that is exactly what you want):(

Thats funny, "Fixed it for you" is not a complete sentence either. I am sure that I have many grammatical and spelling errors in this post as well. Last I checked, this was Jalopy Journal / HAMB, not my high school english class.

Oh, and to Lost Rodder....GREAT idea for a post. It is nice to see that the future of our hobby is in good hands.

Now, I am going to quit typing and let all you 20 and under folks show us what you got:)

I'm 17. I have a few cars sitting around, but I'm in the process of liquidation so I can get something different. The only car I'm really interested in keeping is my '57 Buick Super, but it's got quite a few rare options (i.e. factory air) and I'll feel kinda bad if I cut up the frame and bag it and all that, so I'm going to see if I can sell it. If it doesn't sell real quick though I don't think I'll be able to refrain myself from putting it under the gun! :D

I'm jealous. I wish that I sould have had the patience and know how at such a young age to build a rod. I'm 29. I rebuilt a 78 Ford Bronco from the ground at 18 (beautiful bastard btw). All of the under 20's keep up the good work!

Im 20 and i have been building my 63 riviera for four years now. I frenched some antennas, air bagged it on suspension built completely by myself, did a motor swap with the help of my dad, built a custom cowl, depeaked the hood, shaved the handles, keyholes, mirrors, and wipers, and am preparing to tuck all the bumpers. Im building some frenched headlight bezels and a custom grille right now as well. I will be reworking the corner lights and molding the lower bumper. Its been a crazy project!!!

my parents support my choice of hobby, but arent into cars at all themselves so the only way i could work on my hot rod is my grandpa, and he live 300+ miles away........ but thats where the tools, shop space, and wisdom are all at so i subsequently have given up my past three summers at home to go live with my gramps to wrench and learn .

I'm 16 and in November I somewhat finished my '78 Ford F150. I know it's not traditional but I don't care. I just recently got my first motor to build my self which is a 460. It will have the stock crank with aftermarket con. rods and pistons, a big cam, and a tunnel ram. It's really slow going right now because the cash ain't flowin' like it was 2 years ago. I have no shop so the motors coming together in an old mobile home (good floors thank the Lord). I have plenty of room but the short block will have to come out and be put together out side.

my parents are cool with my choice of hobby..my dad owns a muscle car business but swore up and down that when i drug in the 29 tudor that it would never get finished and i couldnt handle it..a month later i took him to run all of his errands around town in it to prove my point..my mom tries her best to understand..i have had a few other rides..i has a 50 chevy satin black lowered and street worthy but sold it before christmas to afford presents for everyone..had it when i was 16 along with my 35 ford and 50 dodge pickups..i got screwed over by rudy hernandez in victoria, tx with the dodge and sold the 35 ford at a swap meet...both of them were sold again because of the need for money before birthdays and holidays..had a 30 model a coupe and was hounded and begged by my buddy to sell it to him because he wanted one forever and wants to keep it til he dies...well he basically stole it from me for the price i sold it to him..then did his best to steal my girlfriend..ive had alot of stuff but what i listed earlier in pictures are my main ones for personal use..
i have a 27t coupe in the garage i will be working on soon
