Got the 241 back together after stuck exhaust valve. Now she won’t start. Good lord what next. When the valve originally stuck we couldn’t get it to fire again. Any ideas out there? I replaced points in distributor with electronic ignition. Coil has ballast resistor built in. I’m at a loss

  2. Do you have spark at the plug ?

    spark at the coil ?

    good battery ?

    compression ?

why did you swap ignitions ?

    budweiser or Heineken ?

Most electronic setups need a full 12v. Has it run with the new setup?

Van den plays. Good spark. Got fuel and compression. The builder swapped it out to electronic ignition. I’m wondering if it’s getting too much fuel. Fresh rebuilt stromberg and pressure was set to 3.5 lbs

What do the plugs look like? If they've all got wet, might try a fresh set of plugs.

Squirrel yes they are wet that’s kind of why I’m thinking too much fuel

  10. Disconnect the fuel line to the carb.

dribble some fuel down the carb or give it a snort of quick start just to see if it will fire.

That will confirm your ignition is good .( or at least close )

Coild you possibly be 180 out on the distributor ?

did you do anything to your carbs or fuel pump since the last time the car ran ?

wet plugs could be over fueling or crappy spark .

in some cases, once they get wet, they won't fire again....

Make sure it's getting spark, and at the right time. Make sure that there's fuel in the carb but not flooding over. Put fresh plugs in, see if it fires.

Vandenplas. Turned out to be too much fuel. When it was shut off fuel just poured out of base gasket and throttle shaft. Float was way out of whack. Too much fuel brother. Pulled plugs 4 times and cleaned them. Problems solved. Thank you for your thoughts

    Floats stuck?
Check the carburetor base and gasket. A vacuum leak somewhere can drive you nuts.
