Hi to all the hambers reading this. My name is Mick Kmetz aka mickticulus, nope not ILL just located in central rusty Illinois. No I didnt give myself that name, I got it quite a few years ago from some guys I was building a drag car for . Anyway, I've been lurking around here for quite a while, just never jumped in because I always had 60's thru 80's muscle cars and was involved with building prostock drag cars. Flash back about 30 years ago and I was playing in a '32 chevy roadster hotrod built in the '50s and a semi restored '31 chevy parade firetruck owned by my uncle. So maybe I am a hamb-er at heart. Anyway, for the past 18 years Ive been involved with building drag cars on a part time basis for a professional shop. That shop has recently relocated out of distance for me to continue being involved with it or to benefit from the equipment use. So now I am currently rounding up all the equipment it will take for me to get that '32 chevy roadster that I used to play in (I purchased it in '89) back on the road, old school style of course. Since I've never been intimately involved with any old style projects I'm hoping to gain knowledge from the guys here as this board seems to be the most straightforward group without all the typical bull$4i! that goes along with message boards. I also have a '32 2-door sedan which Im going to build/use a "primer" course (thinking suicide front, heavily chopped, tube frame, just generally hammered with big block power) before I get involved with the roadster. I may not post often, but I guarantee I will still be lurking around....Mick
Welcome Mick...you will find this place to be your new addiction. More information here than you can ever find in a magazine or any other website. Sounds like you have some good projects going on. Bill
