Well, there are some existing segments of Route 66 left in Springfield...I enjoy just driving on 'em. Dunno about exciting. Up by Sherman...& IIRC, most of the Business I-55 is old Route 66 as well.
What time are you gonna be in town? Yngrodder works in Decatur as well. I live 15 miles East of Decatur, just south of Cisco, the hot rod capital of Piatt county. It is 30 miles SW of Champaign.
Located in Casey, on I 70 about halfway between Indy and St. Louis. Casey's only claim to fame is a past history of the first oilfields in Illinois, girl's softball and being a suburb of world famous "Moonshine" country store located about 15 miles south east. Moonshine has been on national TV and is a real step back in time. They serve the best burgers you can eat. If any HAMBERS ever want to make a run for a HAMBburger, Moonshine store makes for a great destination. I'd be willing to ramrod a run to the store.
I never seem to be able to get to Moonshine when they are open. One of these days when I go to Stutesman's I can get there early enough to go. Don't they close at noon or somthing like that?
Mansfield here, population 950. We're just north of Lickskillet, or 18 miles west of Champaign, depending on which place you're familiar with.
South Elgin, which is south, of, yeah, Elgin. North of St. Charles (ritzy joint, that), and south of those north of me. I deliver in Jeff Park area, I'm the Wonder bread guy, stop and say "hi" when you're at the Jewel (or the CVS, or Walgreens, you get the idea...). Cosmo
Reside in the woods and hills 10 miles southwest of Chicago in Palos Park. The shop is right in line with the SE landing approach to Midway Airport on Pulaski Rd.

Ditto. I'm from Normal, Ill. (believe that name or not!) It adjoins Bloomington on the north end of town. Bloomington/Normal is often referred to as the "twin cities" here.
Born in Chicago--left for college in 65 to Southern Illinois--stayed--live in De Soto--just North of Carbondale--not too far from Ole don in Christopher.
