I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack

  1. I got back to Omaha from Oregon at 3 this morning after driving through a blizzard in Wyoming and a wind storm in Utah. 2 big rigs were blown over onto their sides at Wendover.
I auctioned off some of my dad's old junk including his 67 T-bird project, his 67 IHC project and his 73 Ford 1/2 ton daily driver. I'd run 2 weeks of ads in the local papers and still only drew 12 auction goers! The projects never got a bid and went for scrap. The daily driver pickup went for a 100 bucks.
Hadda stop at the Bonneville salt flats on my way home. Here's some photos....the "fleet".

  6. Yeah, Tuck...I wish I coulda kept more stuff but there was no way. The 360 in the pickup was tired and wouldn't have made it home but the body was straight and rust-free....
I hadda sell off his tandem axle camp trailer too. a guy bought it for $25 to make a car trailer from.....only had 200 miles on it! Damn, I wish I'd kept it but had no time to scrap the water-damaged walls and ceiling...

Hey Rocky, nice to see you back. I was gonna post a question on here the other day, but I remembered you were gone and now I can't remember what it was. Been a long day with the kids, guess I'll try to remember in the morning, when I've actually had some sleep.

Glad ta here ya made it. Sorry ta here not to many bidders. I suppose no luck on the A-pickemuup.

  19. No Jeff, no word on the old A-boner although the people I believe stole it attended the auction. I welcomed them so they could see everything of value was sold off. No reason to continue cutting locks. Damn thieves.

Welcome back Rocky. That's a long trip for little reward but it's something that had to be done. It sucks that the people you thought might have taken your dad's (YOUR) truck had to be there. I'm glad you didn't take any action towards them but I'll bet it was a though call to just sit back and take Their presence without some reaction. You haven't missed much, this place isn't the same without you.

I did manage to cut more last night before it hurt to much. Looking better, the engine/trans should set it just right.

  26. Injected A.......it was Mike Tucker, a friend of Pork'n Beaner. They're supposed to be coming up here next weekend. Lemme know if the stuff will be ready and I'll have those guys pick it up. I'll send ya an e-mail or P.M., ok? Sorry to hear of your injury...sounds painful. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery........damn!
The ol poncho looks pretty good. I've already forgotten which front clip you used. Looks narrow, like the original pontiac....

You gonna be at the drags? </font>

  29. injected- We're going to Omaha (tenative) this Sun. If you have it out by Sat. evening I can pick it up. If not I can still get the front clip so it won't annoy your neighbors any longer than it needs too.

Rocky- How much of that front end do you need? Can we cut the frame pieces off behind the crossmember so it'll fit in the back of my truck easier? I'm trying not to have to bring the trailer to StL if I don't have to.

  30. Hole-ely shit! All I really wanted from the front end was the steering column and box. If some of the steering linkage was tight, I thought I might keep it around for spares but I don't really require it. I do need the 4 wheels and tires tho...thanks! I still gotta get a check off to Injected A for the stuff.
