Had a guy in my class named Harry Boner. We ended up at teh same College, was a cool dude when his name was not such a big deal as it was to teens.
I use Kens 50 PU because my name is Ken and I have a '50 Chevy pickup. Besides, "Good looking MoFo with an awesome truck" is too long of a screen name and is a bitch when your computer craps on you and you've got to re-enter your name and password! Party on!
I do know that, but thank you for pointing it out... Okay, here's another reason: say I want to find a thread where someone is asking about disc brakes on the front of a Galaxie. I've helped answer many Galaxie questions on here and it makes it MUCH easier to find those threads if I search "Malcolm Galaxie" or "Malcolm Galaxie disc". That way I can easily find an old thread where the question has already been answered.
I'm a computer tech and liked Rush. I'm here cause I like funny cars and car tech but I am nothin but a wannabe.
when I joined I thought they wanted the name of my computer monitor. I couldn't spell that, so I just used my intials.
I've been called Bad Bob for so long...I don't know what I would have gone with if it was already taken! Probably "House-ball 300".
To me, there are rat rods.....low-buck 'jalopies' that are well built and safe and without shiny paint. Then there are the spider-webbed, ridiculous, unsafe contraptions with all sorts of trash attached to them. I call the latter a "snot rod".
Mine is a result of the fact that I cannot get near a car without becoming incredibly filthy. I have ruined more clothes than anyone I know. Have a friend who could probably pull a third member out of his and be fine to go to dinner afterwards. Dunno how some guys do it?!
HE SHALL BE LEEVON , you know , the one Elton John sang about....damn I cant believe I told anyone I knew that song...lol
Mine is obvious. Our dogs name is Shifter and he is usually bad. The best names are the FNG's using the for sale section. I love seeing an FNG with a name like Bobs56Ford selling a 1956 ford, or 28Dodge4ever selling a 28 dodge....
Had "Stillrunners" registered for about 20 years now as a business and car club. It came about a little bit by people always asking about my high school ride -my Stude truck...but mostly cause I like the history of the running moonshine and how it relates to car building.....but you can call me... Mr.Stillrunners....or Lawrence Stillrunners - cars that still run... Stillrunners - cars that run shine....
Because Peter Goesinya was already taken........I had to make something up and since I am always meddling with cars and such it just worked, but I have signed my name to the bottom and often thought later why?
My dad called me wrenchbender a few times when I was just a lil feller so my handle/screen name has been the Wrenchbender since the early 70's when I got my first CB radio. And was putt'n thre fire to the wire! BTW wrenchbender was taken already so TheWrenchbender it is.
Ive got a 71 Harley shovelhead Ive had for 30 years, my daughter gave me that name when I was first learning to use a computer, from her, too much hassle to change all my web names so it stays. Spike
You could give your car to Mike Hunt. Say that one fast! Or get on the intercom at work and ask if anyone has seen Mike Hunt!
My name is Steve, and I have a Nash. Twist on Steve Nash, cause everybody knows who he is. Plus, I don't want you hooligans knowing my last name! Actually, it's more to protect us from people just browsing the site and finding out where we live if they have our full name...
I actually wanted Cosmo because that was Kramer's first name on Seinfeld and my last name is Kramer, but cosmo was taken, so I just used my last name. Dave
My name is Gerry but my dad used to call me JaBoney once in a while and it always made me laugh. Thats a good thing ya know.
Before I was on the HAMB I was looking for and buying parts for my Acadian off Ebay and you need a name there, so I picked this. I like it as well because it has a Canadian connection to a GM type of car.
My name's Steve and, back in the late 80's I got hooked on the early iron Hemis. I had probably the largest stash of early Hemi stuff around here for quite a while - one of the draws for me was the difficulty in tracking down what were then elusive vintage parts. When it became easy to find stuff for them I got kind of bored and sold all mine off. When I started goofing around online in the late 90's, the first screen name I thought of was hemisteve - made sense and I stuck with it - I'm hemisteve everywhere I go online. I'm actually more into vintage wheels and really should be halibrandsteve but I'm too lazy to look and see if anyone's using that handle anywhere. Oh, and I sign my name at the bottom because I've always felt if you send a message you should say who it's from - just a hold over from when you had to actually write a letter. Steve
