mine is the nickname the guys at my local machine shop gave me, shortened version of my long last name. real name is Brock
Bought a 65 Chevy truck while stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base in 1986.. Made a lot of changes to the truck during the 300,000 miles and many years of driving and learned a lot about many things. Bought a 29 Ford Tudor sitting in the ground without suspension or much hope in 2000. Drug it home with the 65, the Black Dog. How many people would you expect to use Marmon Herrington for a search? Cleanup on aisle three. By my own standards.
I don`t sign my name for the same reason I DON`T stand by my car all day long at car shows lookin for attention. Most people don`t know what I drive. Had it for 24 years and drive it all the time. It takes people a few years to figure out it`s got hydraulics, (most knot heads think it`s got airbags, pisses me off)then a couple more to find out it`s got a factory big block in it(Caprice). I work on cars for a livin--people ask me all the time for estimates at shows--if your serious, car me or come by. I`m not a showboater--I don`t rev my engine loud or raise my car up and down all day. I prefer to stay anamonis- anameanis- annanomiss-- onnonomiss-- under the radar. Hows that Groucho!
I find it much more enjoyable if I dont pay attention to the original intent of a thread. Phil McCracken
1. Scotty T was taken. 2. I'm a rodder from NZ 3. I sign my name at the bottom 'cause it's the polite thing to do. Scotty.
To make sure I didn't get sidetracked. My username is the name I gave myself for Ebay and decided it would be my online name since it is what I am. I usually add my real first name into my signature because I like to make it a little more personal. The username identifies you online, but your real name at the end of a post makes the post a little more personal. I don't know if that is why anyone does it, but that's why I do it most of the time. If we should ever meet, then it is up to you whether you call me John or Trukcrazy. Whichever is easiest for you to remember. Take care, John.
I used to grind and flowbench heads for a living. My hands don't work so well any more, but the name is still engraved on my tool box
I workded at a restoration/hot rod shop through high school and college. I wrecked a car and then everyone called me Crash. As time went on most people didn't know my real name (Mark). Crash with a "C" on here was taken so I went with Krash.
That and all the hipster doofuses are changing their screen names to their real names . When I don't sign off with my first name I'm usually feeling impersonal.
Yep, the obvious. I had a 33 ford, my last name starts with "B". My signature really applied to the 33. My signature came from a sign I would put in the windshield so I wouldn't have to talk to people.
I use grits, something my brother came up with. I was born in Alabama and goobers are peanuts and I like peanuts, so...... Goober Raised In The South So now you know
My 34 Ford was on jacks at the time and I was changing project direction. Went from Banger to Flathead. Stayed "Airborne" for about a year.
My name has nothing to do about "lust" or actually a "bus". I live in Olustee, Florida and my nickname is Buster.
