I received a beaten up 37 boot lid handle in the post today. It goes well with my beaten up roadster .
They look like British Lucas "King Of The Road" marker lights. There would normally be a small badge in that small round hole on the top edge. Common on lots of vintage British cars.
I found some time to muck around with the roadster today. Put the template in to the tube benders for the radiator hoses, polished up the fuel pump base and started going through the pumps I have to choose from. I hope to fire this engine up over the Christmas break. I'd really like to switch this oil filter housing out for an old chrome one if I get the chance...
I've had the first radiator tube bent up, I'll trim the upper rubber hose and straighten out the lower hose over the weekend. Thoughts?

I was thinking it but as someone has already said it, 2X45s and straight in between would look less fussy. Just enough to radius around the end of the dynamo. Mart.
I always liked straight up and a 90 forward kinda like the AMT deuce models in the 60's. So many hose variations and they all have their own unique look.
My thoughts were to keep the hose low and give clearer access and view to the carbs and scoops. The resulting wiggly line of the hose draws too much attention I think?
A stock F1 hose has a45 degree bend at bother ends and the rubber parts are straight. It's a nice clean look. You could likely pull off something similar. I kinda like asemetrical bends myself but each to their own.
If I black the tubes out, and keep them low, expose the view of the carbs and scoops... keeping symmetry on both hoses is also important.

This is really cool! I'm always impressed with the builds from scrounged parts. What are the small auxillary lights mounted on the frame from? Went through the thread, but probably missed the reference to them.
Just my opinion, but the combo of rubber and pipe looks a little busy. I used the one piece rubber solution with the 59A-B in my '34 truck... These look much nicer than the generic 22" long flexible hoses, and you eliminate four connections that are potential leak points too. Third Gen Automotive in Tennessee, USA sells them - part number 40-8262-59A. Otherwise, I love your build. You're doing great work!

I think the bent up steel is more hot rod less restoration. Put some big shiny air cleaners on those dual carbs. The rad hose won't even be a thought.
I agree the simplicity of the hose looks nice, the problem is they won't fit over my offset generator set up. I'll keep playing and see what I come up with. Thank you for your input! Maybe something like this photo would be more minimalistic than what I have done.
The small front lights are an aftermarket light intended to be a reverse light originally. I looked them up in the "Campbell & Co." Catalog a while ago. I like the Mohawk style lens they have. I think they go nicely with guide type (Corocoran & brown) headlights.
Still collecting parts for the roadster. Family and renovations have taken priority for a little while.
