Lot's of folks were surprised to see this girl racing her car. My wife should get a kick outta that. Interesting livestock...
Thanks for posting the pics! I would never have thought of the baby blue chassis/running gear... really looks great!
good meeting you at the track. Kendra rules with that roadster. That thing was running strong all weekend.
Had a really good time, in spite of the rain on Friday. I need to say, for most who had to bail from Sat. evenings festivities, the drive -in thing was spot on coooool. When the call came out from Two Lane Blacktop about the GTO coming from Bakersfield, and the crowd all yelling and whistling, well, that was just too cool. Running into the semi-finals with fellow H.A.M.B'ers in the N/G class was just icing on the cake. And thanks to Zombie, and his pop for putting in the time to bring it all around! You guys have something going that is a sure thing. Keep it pure... Dale (the funnycar farmer)
Thanks folks. It really was a great time. I kinda wanted to go back today, but something else turned out really well. I started at the Petersen Museum. It was neat, but not enough race cars and hot rods. I found my way to the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, but they were closed. Probably at the races... I looked at the time and it was almost 4pm. I was thinking the NHRA Museum would close at 5, but went anyway. I walked in as one fella was walking out. Paid my admission and asked the Old Guy behind the counter how much time I had. He said "all you want". I was all alone in the NHRA Museum for over two hours. ALONE! It was almost a religious experience. It was like getting into the local legend's barn and he forgot to say "don't touch". I didn't. But I did get to really study what I wanted, walk around undisturbed and it was absolutely quiet. Just me and my thoughts. Oh yea, and my camera! http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/ind...viewPicture&friendID=69887685&albumId=2716648 I have movies from DragFest and all the pics from the Petersen museum to post, also, but that can wait til tomorrow.
That was Buck Owens' place? Wow, I've passed by the place on the way to the track many times and I never knew.
