My wife and I are moving out there in a month or so.

Im gonna drive my Galaxie out there from So Cal, should be pretty interesting.

Im sure im gonna asking on here for some help at some point hahahaha.

I thought i'd let y'all [ already talking southern :D ] know, I've spoken to a few guys online that live around the area, if anyone has any information about places, car shit, music etc let me know

    thanks

    L

  2. This is So Cal's loss. Good luck, man.

  3. Sorry to lose you, but I think more of us (me especially) will be moving out of Ca soon.

Just keep to the high ground, and watch out for anyone saying the house has "minor" water damage..

  4. I hope you have a way of making a living and a place to live set up... from what I saw, N.O. is still pretty torn up.

N.O. is great for the most part....the French quarter and garden district look pretty good now, ninth ward, N.O. East, is another story, still really bad, We go there a few times a month, actually i'm going there today, Just like any city, good areas and bad areas...where you do need a gun.

you could not pay me enough to live in Nawlins. It is a miltary zone right now.

  14. Man, I'm sorry to hear that.

Worked down there for 3 years before Katrina; fortunately lived on the North side of the lake.

The best way to see N'awlins is in your rear view mirror:D

    New Orleans rules !

Before Katrina hit Louisiana in general was my favorite place to visit. It'll slowly but surely get back in to shape.

Make sure you check out Frenchmen street in the north French Quarter.
    Great music,Great clubs,Great atmosphere!

My wife's Dad, died three years ago from cancer, was from NOLA and carried a gun every day of his life while there. He had to use it a couple times and had to show it a bunch more. He was a terrible shot but it did its job. Then and now, good and bad.
Much of the criminal element has moved on after the storm to Houston and elsewhere in the Nation causing trouble and mayhem wherever they go. Those still there are the dumb ones and they are the really scary ones.

I like the 9 mm Beretta, when its go time, and trust me in New Orleans there will be "go times" its accurate and not overwhelming. I doubt the police will come around if anything does happen so good luck.
Those kids need schools too, so god bless you.

We had a company truck stolen from two of our employees at gun point during lunch with cops in the same parking lot.

We had a rental car get its back window broke out so the theives could take our guys luggage. In broad daylight. While they were taunting our tech and the hotel clerk through the window.

    Fuck that place. Good luck.

Houston needs some new schools too. :D

Good luck to you, really. I live just outside a small rural town in Ga. that is on curfew cause of all the trouble, it's everywhere. I think you made a smart choice. I mean the odds of another hurricane are way in your favor.

It would help to say where you are going to live. Lived there for four years and did not have any real problem - just like any other place - don't be stupid. Lots of music, good food and opportunities there.

    Good Luck!

pm me if you want any info.

Not at all. I've thought about going down there myself. I've lived on the coast a number of times in different places. The odds really are in your favor. And this small Ga. town really is going under a curfew. It's freaking unreal, but true.
