HI, I'm new to this website but not new to my love for cars & cycles. Been toying with cars and bikes since before I was a teen. Been at it now for over 50 years. Now retired and finally working on my "project" car that I bought 42 years ago. I am getting started on a 1955 Thunderbird body off resto-mod. In preparation for this I built a new garage and installed a lift. I found a couple bad spots on my frame. I talked with the guys at the local "old birds" club. I have made arrangements to buy an already "clean" 56 frame. My goal is to work this car as often as possible and I hope to be driving it by mid to late summer 2018. It currently has a 302 CI automatic in it. I will have to modify/fabricate parts on the 56 frame to swap the drivetrain into it. The car has been converted to 12V. I am attaching a picture of what it looked like before I am started on this retirement project. Who knows... maybe when this is done I might try a more "traditional" hot rod build!

I just realized that post #5 is basically saying that I don't belong here. Guess I'll be a "lurker" from here on out.

Thank you guys. I guess I shouldn't call it a resto-mod because it really isn't. It will be more of a mild custom. I have begun accumulating some parts. I am planning to try to keep this build all Ford. I will be doing some fab to get different things to fit because I will be updating brakes, suspension and running a more modern drivetrain in it.
