I figured I'd start out on the right foot, follow the rules and introduce myself. I'm new to the forum and I'm really excited about the opportunities it provides. I've been reading it for months but finally decided to join a few days ago. I'm still in college and working full time so I don't have a whole lot of time to work on my projects. I have plans for starting a project in the next year or so when I'm out of school and I figured what better place to do some research than by checking out what people who actually know what they're doing have done. Thanks in advance!
welcome from Parkville ( northeast corner of the Baltimore beltway)........there are a lot of Southern Maryland guys on this board. we have a Maryland social group......don't do anything but we at least know who is close......join up !! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=135
Thanks! Anyone know of any good swap meets in the Maryland, Virginia, PA area coming up in the near future? I won't be able to make Carlislethis year.
Well, I'm working on a 1969 GTO (not really forum friendly) and I have a 1954 F250, but I dont really have the time to put into it yet. I graduate from college next spring and plan to spend alot more time then working on stuff. I'm starting to do some research for a 1957 Chevy 4dr wagon. I think it would be an awesome family hauler when that time comes around (my soon to be wife is on board with it). I'm also looking at doing some sort of bare bones early hotrod. But that is just a dream right now.
Welcome, and thanks for paying attention to the sticky at the top of the page. I think you will do just fine around here........
Thanks, everyone. As luck would have it I passed a '57 4 dr wagon today, the guy was asking 3,500 for a incomplete shell (no fenders, seats, glass or motor) it was missing a lot. I think his price was way high, but being relatively new to that era of car I wasn't sure. Is that what I should expect to pay?
Welcome from New Zealand. Your '69 Goat is a great place to start with projects (I've had a lot to do with Ponchos over the years), as is your F-250, for that matter. Sorry that I can't help you on the value of the '57 wagon, but I'm sure there are plenty of other HAMBers who can.
The 57 was too high if it was missing all those parts and it was just a shell.....and welcome from Kentucky
