you know i realized something just now. i havent posted anything about my truck since my intro. that sucks. told you im a dumbass. so instead of posting a smartass reply to someone elses post, ill start talking. and since im such an idiot when it comes to posting pics ill try to describe in vivid detail so you can picture it in your head.

it all started about three years ago, my buddy GLASSHOLE comes to me and says "buy this truck"(49 ford F-1) so i says "ok"

so i finally start working on the thing about two months ago. i set the cab down on an s-10 chassis. simple enough. but here comes the fun part. my buddy SOWHAT says to me " lets raise the fenders two inches for fun" and i say "ok" so i rased the fenders two inches. then i say "coooool" then i mocked my running boards and rear fenders. the thing sits low. cant wait to cruise. the plan is to unviel it this spring. any help or tips is very much appreciated. its my first rod, and being only 21 makes it that much better cause when all my friends in thier rice buckets are sittin on the side of the road with johnny-law behind'em i can cruise by and laugh.

working on the hood now. gonna have to section and for looks im gonna lean the front back a hair. its popular to piecut the hood this truck so it look different. im trying to figure out how to keep the openings the front in working order for the latch assembly.

  4. Cut the hood openings out, then pancake the hood and put 'em back in.
Remember on a section a little is a bunch. I would think if you took an inch down to nuthin' that would be plenty.
You still may have to take a piece out of the hood openings to make 'em look right, but should be able to fudge things around to get at the latch etc.

    jeff,

about those holes in the front: don't sweat it. weld the whole front into a one-piece; fill those holes; hinge it down front; don't need no stinkin' latches...

    (think gravity here)

Welcome jaygeff! Good idea atch. I had a 67 XKE Jag that I put a 289 in back in late 70s. Went to sell it, took potential buyer for a ride, nightime, stopped under a streetlight to show him engine, forgot to latch FE back dow, next stoplight braked hard, FE tilted up & open.. Very embarrasing. [IMG]

  13. Jeff... Bill has my plaz. Get him to bring it down to cut the hood. Cut the two inches off then mock it back together. Step back and look at it. Then tuck the top part inside the bottom half. Lower the front about a half inch and step back again. Try 3/4 of an inch and try a full inch. Step back each time and look at it. Hell take pictures of it at each level then decide how much to "pie cut" it.
Glad to hear you're makin progress with it.
