Thanks Frank! Would brake cleaner work as a mag cleaner or just melt the stuff inside?

 

Bob, isopropyl alcohol works pretty well for cleaning electrical parts.

 

I'm not taking the mag off just plan to clean it in place.

Back in 1968 I went 50/50 with a high school friend on a 1930 Ford Cabriolet, $50.00 total. He needed the rear axle for the '28 Roadster Pick Up that was his daily driver, there were three Model A's in the Cl*** of '68. I keep the rest of the car and parted it out. Today I sold the deck lid, after 52 years I decided I don't need a spare, the keeper is much nicer. Off to FedEx Ground tomorrow. Bob

I used to ship fenders DHL .. but no more U.S. domestic. Used Greyhound .. not the best to know where your parts are .. even when the part is next to the person answering the phone < Dallas depot > . Have also used Forward Air on pallet .. airport to airport.

Had some leftover paint remover, brushed it on the fender well. Some s****ing and sanding and I have a better idea what needs fixing. Doors were welded & brazed closed when I found it. All free stuff, I may hit it with hammers, next. Hank was no help at all.

Two days in a row, motivation and paint remover still in good supply. Now finding the guy that can roll factory matching bead on a 12 x 12 sheet of steel is the next step. Has anyone seen Flop recently? Bob

Ever have one of those days when you are razor blading a car and everything goes right and you just can't stop? Less that two hours and I'm down to the original paint. Started with one used blade, keep dressing it with a piece of 80 grit. Know idea why the red lead was there, no flaws under it. Called Steadfast about a kick up subframe, I'm having fun.

Buddy is bonding together a '32 fibregl*** roadster body... he bought brookies '32 rear subfloor for the project...
I asked him twice … $165.00 ...
comes in a box, you ***emble...
adding them to an A coupe, roadster or coupester body on '32 rails should only involve shortening the cross rails a little...
think that is a good deal $...

I don't think that body was outside for too long, I found it in 1962 so it was 32 years old then. Attic and ba*****t storage since then. I can save half of the bottom bead. I think I read some were on the HAMB that Flop made a die to roll out perfect factory matches.

Thanks! It does feel good working on the body, that is all that matters now, goal is to have a finished body in primer with fitted doors and deck lid. NOTHING else, just doing what I'm good at, and understand. I've always liked that pinstriping doodle some kid put on it, but s****ing off the first section was the first step in the body's new life. I can do a lot of prep work on parts without spending any money.

New paint stick, a half sheet of 400 paper and 45 minutes with soapy water, and it looks much better. Time for my second cup of coffee.

Inspirational … but not enough for me to jump on this one... $1700 ish...
zee'd frame front and rear, split bones, disc brakes on the A axle, SBC, automatic, RHD, looks like a '32 truck door cut and folded for the right side door, flat steel quarter extentions and right cowl side, car roof as deckskin, filled tanktop, ...
…a little cheaper and one could split it down the middle and make 2 lawn art profiles...
or get "blades bob" to restore it for you...
