don was makin fun of mickey's fenders because of mickey's belief that REAL hotrods don't have fenders [IMG] and mickey used to (still) give grief to don about his fenders. here is a better view of mickey's HOTROD.

  5. Hey Jim, Mick advised me that those aren't fenders, they're "Tire Cozies". I just rolled my eyes and smiled

It's a flathead ford with Isky designed cylinder heads on it.

Actually those arent Heads on iskys roadster i dont think. I am pretty sure they are just fabricated Covers, kinda like thoose finned ones you can get... Just covers.

  14. No covers, they really are early OHV heads. And the car still runs to this day.

The heads on Isky's engine are F-heads -- I can't remember if it's the intakes or exhausts that have been moved to the heads, but it's only one or the other.

From the photo, both intakes and exhausts look pretty much like flathead Ford, so it's hard to tell without a better look.

i believe the intake is in the block and the exhaust in thr head. commercially available aftermarket heads with isky made valve covers. can't remember the manufacturer of the heads though.

After they DRUG me out the NHRA museum, we went to the Ed Martin Garage. The shop was founded by Willy's (the blue '55 chevy) father in the 30's. Willy now runs the shop. It is a very cool place. Pieces of history can be found all over the shop. Old equipment, photos and such. Willy had a band and grill going... A couple of guys from the ego rama put their cars up on the hoists and showed their handiwork. Deek and I could only stay for an hour or so, and then had to leave for Vegas.

This morning we left Vegas and headed home to Salt Lake City. It was fairly an uneventfull ride home. Lots of road construction and left lane lolly-gagers.

I plan to post all my pics in my Photo Bucket site once I get to work so I can use the LAN line. I'm also going to put the video of Don's wreck on a link. Give me a couple of days for that...

Thanks for all of the kind words and well-wishes everyone. It was a fun trip to say the least. I kinda felt like I took most of you with me....
