Well good Denise now we can go for that ride we couldn't before. Your car is now whole and we don't have to sneak around (without permission) to ride naked while eating chocolate chip cookies! LOL.

  7. congrats...I love it when the final piece of the puzzle finds its way into your hands (of course my 3 year old Gianna and I do puzzles all the time so I get to feel that same elation on a smaller scale every day)...I have a 54 dodge town panel and want to double up the taillights on the rear and my buddy stumbled upon some the other day and asked "weren't you looking for some taillights for your panel?"...needless to say I had him snatch them up...no snatch jokes please...enough trim jokes already...of course I have only been looking for those for 2 weeks...

    coming soon: rodtees.com

See you in a few weeks.

  11. Trim that old and in such good shape is almost impossible to find. Surely it will be grateful to hook up. Congratulations.

If this means that Big Olds is done, should I tell you that I just found there is a 42 Olds convert in the Colorado auction? Should be a wartime blackout car. Next project maybe?

No shit??? I can't, I really can't, would LOVE to but I can't. You do know I have another '47 Olds convertible in my garage called Rusty Olds that I'm suppose to start on next, don't you? You're a bad, bad friend for tempting me like this, you're very bad........ We'll talk next Saturday :D

  16. Why build two? Go the 42!

  17. Congrats G.F., I almost teared up reading the info. Another reson the H.A.M.B. friggin rules!! I put up a post yesterday about needing help with getting a short block for Poly Girl at the H.A.M.B. drags, and almost instant reply from your pal Earl Schieb who is going to help me out. Without this wonderful media I wouldn't have dreamed about driving my girl Poly to the Roundup or KKOA. But feel like I have a huge support group riding with me when I take off on these adventures. See ya soon-Sololobo/Larry

Well, to be honest... about 30 of us have been talking about that via PMs and on the HAMB Chat. We figured if we brought it public we'd get cut off from your cookies so we kept our mouths shut. :p:eek:

Glad to hear you got that illusive trim. That style really makes the car, not that the Olds trim is ugly, but the Chevy piece is just really clean. And your dedication and affection for the car is is really touching. Its good to know there are still people like you around, I get really excited when body panels are really aligned right. I am not a real emotional guy, but seeing and working lines in the way they are supposed to be gives me shivers I have to admit. I still love running my index finger around seams feeling for gaps and misalignments now that my vision is dropping off. Sickness I guess, but I love good alignment and lines more than shiny paint. And I love good paint.

I appreciate ya looking bud. I leave for B'ville in less then two weeks so I really don't have the extra $$ to spend on them right now. Will probably have to wait till the cruzn season is over if I want to still do the events I have planned. Thanks for thinking of me though.

How cool is this site? Right here, is why. Way-to-be!! Does it need a spit shine? I'll do it it in my BVD's, tan line and all.

Glad to hear it. I was close several times but no luck. I had more than one frown as I was measuring trim at swapmeets and peoples cars. If I ever do find one, I will make a piece of wall art for you!
